Ian Coley Shooting School

Cheltenham

Active Experience

Opened by six-time Olympic GB coach Ian Coley MBE, this is one of the best shooting schools in the UK. Set within woodland just outside Cheltenham there is a range of covered stands each with at least two traps. The range of targets keeps it interesting; some are more technical than others so you can build your skills.

The shooting school at their award-winning grounds is a great choice no matter your experience. Training is given from intermediate to advanced levels and they cater for individuals or groups. A Have-a-Go session is perfect for people who have never shot a gun before as everything you need will be provided. The instructors ensure you are safe and talk you through the entire process to help you hit more than you miss! With a gun tailored to you, you will have the best experience and leave feeling exhilarated.

If the taster session has piqued your interest in shooting, an individual lesson would refine your skills. Spending time with the instructor you will be able to ask any questions and iron out your technique. You’re then able to progress to an advanced lesson. If you have any particularly niggly shots that you just can’t seem to get right, this is the opportunity to finesse your abilities.

More experienced shooters with a license are able to make use of the pay and play system. This utilises delayed trap release systems so you can practise for as long as you like. At the site there is also a gun shop where you can purchase a new favourite, or have a gun fitted.

After your shooting, the café on site serves lunch, burgers and hot and cold drinks to refuel you.

The Ian Coley Shooting School is a great choice if you’re staying in the Cotswolds, it’s a true country experience. Attending as a group is the perfect combination of fun and competition as you compete for the most on target shots of the afternoon!

To note: Comfortable, casual clothing and sensible footwear is required.

Book one of their have-a-go sessions to try something different for your next holiday.
