Lydney Park Estate
A collection of unique holiday homes in the magical Forest of Dean.
The ‘forest’ has formed part of the landscape here since Norman times when it was once proclaimed as a Royal Hunting Forest and an area that was reserved for the sole use of the king. Today, its stunning, very natural beauty makes it a popular destination for outdoor lovers and adventurers alike.
Lying within the boundary of the Forest of Dean is the Lydney Park Estate boasting a heritage that can be traced back through the ages to the time of King Charles I. Acquired by the Bathurst family in the 1700s the estate is privately owned, however at certain times during the Spring months, the glorious gardens are opened to the public.
Within the Lydney Park Estate are a number of self-catering holiday properties which are available exclusively through Bolthole Retreats. This means you can explore the wonderful Forest of Dean and the surrounding area in total comfort.
The collection currently includes Lodge Barn – a spacious barn conversion with a games room and hot tub, sleeping up to 18 guests.
Deer Park Farmhouse sleeps six and sits alongside Lodge Barn with a private garden and hot tub.
Lodge Barn and Deer Park Farmhouse can be booked together as The Hickory to sleep 24 guests in 12 bedrooms.
The Old Pump House is hidden in a woodland glade 2 miles from the other Lydney properties, in the most tranquil of locations and sleeps up to six guests.
Quarry Lodge is also secluded among the woods, near a lake, and sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms.
There are also two dog-friendly shepherds huts, Bertha and Betty, which are wonderful romantic retreats which enjoy spectacular views.
