Holiday cottages for December
Get into the festive spirit with a visit to the beautiful winter wonderland Cotswolds
December is the perfect time to explore the Cotswolds as the sleepy villages come to life, adorned with the twinkling of fairy lights and Christmas trees springing up in the most unlikely of places. The Cotswolds are beautiful all year round, but they really come into their own during the winter months. The rolling green hills, or ‘wolds’, are dotted with fluffy sheep, perhaps peppered with the first snow; there are fewer people around so you can discover the region like a local; and everything happens at a gentler pace.
Enjoy bracing countryside and woodland walks before warming up by a toasty fire in one of the many inviting local pubs, complete with mulled wine or cider. With one year coming to the end and the next soon beginning, there are also many events you can attend in the Cotswolds to celebrate the festive season with your close friends and family.
Our holiday cottages come in all shapes and sizes, and in December we can think of nothing better than cosying up in a beautiful Cotswold cottage, many of which are dog friendly, with an open fire and a welcoming pub within walking distance.
