Cotswold Lakes Houses
An outdoor activity centre with stunning lakeside houses
The Cotswold Lakes span 42 square miles of breath-taking countryside, featuring over 180 interconnected lakes, scenic footpaths, and bridleways. This picturesque destination is home to charming villages, tranquil nature reserves, and an incredible selection of lakeside houses. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, there’s something for everyone – from thrilling water sports to indulgent spa experiences.
Cotswold Lakes offer a fantastic range of activities, including kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), open-water swimming, wakeboarding, water skiing, fishing, and inflatable rides. Families can also enjoy a soft sandy beach and a calm lagoon, perfect for swimming and play.
For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are miles of walking and cycling trails winding through woodlands, meadows, and alongside the River Thames. The area is rich in wildlife, with must-visit spots like the flagship Cotswold Lakes Nature Reserve and the Cleveland Lakes Nature Reserve. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead near lake edges and are not permitted in the lakes, on the beach, or in play areas.
At the heart of Cotswold Lakes, the Gateway Centre offers a café, restaurant, outdoor shop (Cotswold Outdoors), bike hire, and an information centre. For a touch of luxury, Spa6 at the De Vere hotel is just next door. The nearby village of South Cerney also boasts three welcoming country pubs, perfect for rounding off a day of exploration.
