Holiday cottages for July

Relax and enjoy a feast of colour, sunshine, outdoor entertaining and festivals

It’s the height of the summer and the countryside is at its glorious best. Our cottages for July shown below are an easy to browse collection with availability at this time of year. Gardens are in full bloom and the land is covered in a swathe of multi-hued green. The Cotswolds is awash with pubs with great gardens too, all at the ready to welcome walkers. Visitors with dogs will also find great options, and anyone who loves a local G&T or a pint of Cotswold-brewed beer will be happy.

The Forest of Dean is abuzz with laughter as families take to the rivers and try kayaking and paddle boarding. Often accompanied by much splashing if it is the first attempt! Walking in the summer breeze refreshes the spirit and your dog will enjoy cooling off in the waters along the way. In Herefordshire have a pint of locally made cider in a pub garden before exploring a historic town.

As the temperature rises, there’s a feeling of warmth, school holidays and long evenings in the air. Everyone is ready for a much-needed summer break. Just imagine spending the day exploring gardens, farm parks, water parks, woodland and rivers. You can then return to your own piece of tranquillity for a relaxed evening drink and a BBQ at one of our self-catering holiday retreats. Many are also dog-friendly so your pet can come too.

July is also a fantastic month for festivals, with this year joyfully back to a fabulous choice of live events. For the whole family try Cornbury Music Festival, Bristol Harbour Festival, Womad – the World’s Festival at Charlton Park near Malmesbury, or head over to free-to-enter Riverside Festival Charlbury. If you like indie bands, 2000Trees near Shipton Oliffe will be your choice. Bands of the likes of Idles, Thrice and Jimmy Eat World are past headliners. Alternatively, the Cheltenham Festivals have so much to offer throughout the year with food, music, literature and science.

We think there’s no better place to spend a slice of summertime with family or friends. Choose one of our hand-picked Cotswold, Forest of Dean or Herefordshire holiday homes, with space inside and out for everyone to enjoy.
