Alscot Estate

Rural escapes near Stratford-upon-Avon

Covering over 4,000 acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside, Alscot Estate is a glorious country estate that can trace its roots back to the 1700s. Here in this very tranquil spot, you are deep in the heart of William Shakespeare’s country. Indeed, his birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon is just a short 3-mile drive away. The vibrant, bustling town is filled with his legacy, and there is much to discover. A stay on the Alscot Estate enables you to take in performances at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Dine in Michelin-star restaurants and go boating on the River Avon. You can also visit Mary Arden’s House, Ann Hathaway’s Cottage and enjoy the food, art and music festivals that take place throughout the year. The magical landscapes of the Cotswolds are just a short drive away and offer an abundance of natural beauty, superb walking and world-class attractions.

The Alscot Estate has been in the same family for nine generations, originally purchased by James West MP to house his impressive art collection. You are now able to experience this very beautiful part of England for yourself, in one of the two beautiful country retreats we have on the estate. Alscot Park is one of the finest examples of Strawberry Hill gothic architecture in the country and they are passionate about sustainability. Alongside their target of achieving carbon-neutral status by 2050, they were also the first biodiversity project in the UK.

In the picturesque estate village of Preston on Stour, which has a vibrant community spirit, you will find Lockes Cottage. This utterly delightful black and white cottage is just perfect for romantic escapes. The Village Shop and Café sits in the heart of the village. It’s just moments away and sells locally sourced meat, eggs and milk. They also provide freshly baked bread, vegetables, and coffee from local award-winning artisan Monsoon Estates. The village is also home to a yoga studio, and yoga sessions are available.

Our second Alscot Estate property is Beecham Farmhouse, this much-loved family home is now available for you to enjoy. It stands in peaceful seclusion, deep in the countryside, with views in every direction. It is the perfect place to spend time with family, friends and loved ones.
