Lush green hills peppered with honey-hued houses form a breathtaking backdrop for The Old Tractor Shed - a spot that invites you to indulge in Cotswold living like a local. Undeniably cosy with its crackling wood burner and thick rustic beams, we love the serene ambience that weaves through this beautifully renovated tractor shed, once a place where the owners would store their farm vehicles. Situated on the edge of Cheltenham - a pearl of the Cotswolds, and a popular spa town where rows of gorgeous Regency terraces complement Georgian crescents - The Old Tractor Shed is just footsteps from the famous Cotswold Way, a 102 mile long-distance footpath running along the Cotswold Edge escarpment of the Cotswold Hills.
Full Description
Simple elegance meets rustic charm when it comes to this cosy Cotswold hideaway. Situated in the heart of Gloucestershire, and just a stone's throw from Cheltenham, where centuries of history lie waiting to be discovered, The Old Tractor Shed is your bolthole for an unforgettable Cotswold stay. Whether you're an avid walker, keen cyclist or seasoned foodie, this special spot offers the best of both town and country life.

Set over two floors, The Old Tractor Shed welcomes you with a light, airy entrance hall before you're met with a charming living/dining area that forms the beating heart of the home. Here, a dining table for twelve sits under a thick beam that only adds to the charm of this place - complete with a bar and open fireplace, this majestic room only gets better. The kitchen is bright, airy and classically Cotswolds complete with a breakfast table and ample space for rustling up local produce or sipping on organic cider from nearby farm shop and taproom, Dunkertons. Spend evenings in the sitting room, perching in front of the finely crafted wood burner - the most comfortable spot to sink into a book or chat with friends and family to the sound of crackling flames.

Just a few footsteps from the property lies direct access to the breathtaking Cotswold Way, which you can follow for miles of majestic walks through The Cotswolds' symphony of scenic woodlands, weaving pathways and vast common land. When you get peckish, grab a drink and food at one of the glorious pubs in the area where popular spots include Winchcombe, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water - all within a short distance from The Old Tractor Shed.

Reviews

What can we say other than our stay couldn't have been any more perfect. We had 12 people staying and everyone was blown away with how modern and beautiful everything was. The barn was kitted out with more than enough kitchen products, cooking products, glasses and mugs. The cleanliness was top notch and everything in the barn was of super high quality. Emma was an amazing host with exceptional communication and super helpful. We are looking forward to booking again next year.

We booked our stay over the Xmas break and what a fantastic place to come too. The beautiful renovation of The Tractor Shed is amazing, the space, the beautiful interior styling & everything & more you could wish for in a self catering stay. So many lovely touches to welcome us here we’re so well thought so many lovely Xmas decorations & lots of lovely treats waiting for us. We really loved the log burner in the evenings & the space in the kitchen was amazing for the 6 of us. The bathrooms were so spacious & we could have stayed here indefinitely. Lovely walks on the Cotswold way right outside, we would have loved to walk more but not enough time too. The owner of the property was very nice. The farm was quiet and we loved the daily walk up & down the drive with the dog past the fields & horses. A short drive to lots of nearby Cotswold towns . I definitely recommend staying here for a luxurious peaceful break in a lovely setting.

We booked The Tractor Shed for our annual girls weekend and the accommodation didn’t disappoint. Beautiful home which exceeded our expectations. The house was very comfortable, we enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine in the cosy living room with the wood burner on, playing games and catching up. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. We cooked a big roast dinner during our stay and were surprised by how much thought had gone into all the equipment available in the kitchen cupboards. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable with lovely soft linen and pillows. The showers were incredible and very powerful. We explored the local area and enjoyed a beautiful Autumnal countryside walk. We had the best weekend, thank you.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The home was spotless and beautifully maintained, making it easy to relax and settle in. The location couldn’t have been better—lovely, scenic walks right nearby and the most charming fluffy cows as neighbours, which our family adored. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy quality family time. Visiting in Autumn was magical with the stunning colours all around. Thank you for a memorable getaway; we hope to return!

Fabulous property, all high end beds & fittings. Spotless throughout. Extra personal touches with home made cake, bread, milk & eggs provided. Met by the owner who was very welcoming. Dog made to feel at home with treats & blankets, stair gate ideal. Excellent value for money, there was only 4 of us but it’s perfect for 3 couples. Would highly recommend.

We booked The Old Tractor Shed for a long overdue reunion with friends in the Cotswolds. We were delighted with the place, it is spacious, stylish, quiet, well-equipped and we loved the walks from the door. Everything from the linen, furniture, appliances and fittings oozed quality and it felt very special and comfortably homely at the same time. The scents in every room and apple pie on arrival were wonderful touches. We’d highly recommend it!
