Supermarkets and Shopping:There is a local village shop at the Green Dragon pub, which sells daily essentials such as bread, butter, eggs, meat, milk, fruit and vegetables, as well as more specialist products such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, anchovies, passata and pasta from around the world. The shop supplies ice-cream from Devon, ale from Cornwall, meat from the local butcher, vegetables from the south-west of the UK, plus they have a great selection of gins and vodka, as well as fine wines from Bordeaux. The shop also stocks homeware items, perfect for your home or as a gift. (Note the village shop is not open in the evenings.)

Eating Out:- Cowley Manor Restaurant - a luxurious spot for lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or cocktails (1.5 miles)
- Green Dragon Inn, Cowley – roaring log fires and beamed ceilings, a friendly local pub (1.5 miles)
- Colesbourne Inn, Colesbourne - the traditional bar has an open fire and a charming atmosphere (3.5 miles)
- Knead Bakery, Elkstone Studios – bakery and café with indoor and outdoor heated seating, part of a shopping complex with a children’s playground, amphitheatre and padel courts, butcher and food hall (4 miles)
Walks:To the Green Dragon Pub: Leaving Chequers Cottage, walk down to the main road through the village and on your right you will see a sign for the Gloucestershire Way. Begin here following the path, forking left after the river towards Coberley Mill House. Continue along the path heading south passing an alpaca farm to the village of Cowley. Continue through the village until you reach the entrance to Cowley Manor. With the manor ahead of you, follow the road to the right and you will see a sign along a road to the left for the Green Dragon.
If you continue walking south of Cowley you will discover Cowley and Ward’s Wood. You can find great tobogganing spots here!

- Cowley Manor Spa - the multi award-winning spa, features a Cotswold green-slate lined heated indoor pool and a spectacular heated outdoor pool, along with fabulous treatments (1.5 miles)
- Cotswold Farm Park – meet the rare farm breeds and visit during Spring for the lambing live event (13.5 miles)
- Bourton-on-the-Water – known as the Venice of the Cotswolds this is a charming village (15 miles)
Travel:- Train - Cheltenham and Gloucester railway stations (6 and 10 miles) have a frequent and direct service to London Paddington and Birmingham.
