Cottages near Kingham
A peaceful village with a few surprises
Set in the broad Evenlode valley, Kingham is a secluded village, surrounded by elegant cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is everything you would expect from a charming Cotswold area, with a local shop, church, and multiple walking and cycling routes. Being so close to the River Evenlode also means there are multiple opportunities for fishing and canoeing – you can follow the river all the way to Stow-on-the-Wold.
The best kept secret though, is that Kingham is a brilliant foodie destination. There are two highly-rated pubs, the Kingham Plough and The Wild Rabbit, and there is the Big Feastival which is held at Blur bassist Alex James’ local farm. From family-run establishments to famous faces, you are spoilt for choice with delicious seasonal produce all year round.
