Full Description

Originally, The Granary was a yellow-brick barn used to house grain. Today, it is a beautifully renovated and restored home from home at the centre of the owners’ farm on the outskirts of Cheltenham, close to the village of Shurdington. The Granary is accessed along a country track, passing open land and neighbouring houses and farms instantly immersing you in this rural location. When you arrive you find yourself surrounded by farmland and open country with easy access to walks and beautiful scenery. The immaculately kept courtyard before The Granary has the owners’ property to one side and the parking area to the other.

The Granary has a fully equipped kitchen with a separate utility/cloakroom and a large dining/living room, featuring the original beams and fabulous wood burning stove. From here, step out into the garden surrounded by a wicker fence which is wonderfully private with a table and chairs and a BBQ to grill up delicious evening meals. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two 3ft single beds. The two bedrooms share a shower room with a large walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin.

The Granary is ideally located to explore the Cotswolds with easy access to wonderful places of interest, including Cheltenham Racecourse, historic Sudeley Castle in the village of Winchcombe, Cirencester and it's Roman heritage, and the towns and villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford. If you prefer to arrive by train and explore the area on foot or by bike, Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester train station are just 5 miles from the property.

  • Book with us to get exclusive discounts to top attractions and experiences.
  • The Granary is at the end of a long rural lane, on a working farm, though set aside from farm activity. Guests are welcome to explore the farm and meet the owners’ horses and sheep, but please avoid the mown area around the lake which is the owners’ garden.
  • Up to two large stables can be hired at an additional cost of £50 per stable. Neither bedding nor feed are provided but there's a lockable area for both, and for all tack. Hacking out from The Granary involves rather too much road-work but parking for a lorry or trailer is available giving you ready access to the glories of Cotswold riding. Payment for the stable(s) must be made direct to the owner on arrival as cash or bank transfer.
