Sleeping four the cottage has a welcoming and beautifully appointed living/dining room with a woodburning stove and original exposed beams. You have your own private garden and two large stables can be hired, giving you the option to bring your own horses and explore the beautiful Cotswolds on horseback.
Full Description

Originally, The Granary was a yellow-brick barn used to house grain. Today, it is a beautifully renovated and restored home from home at the centre of the owners’ farm on the outskirts of Cheltenham, close to the village of Shurdington. The Granary is accessed along a country track, passing open land and neighbouring houses and farms instantly immersing you in this rural location. When you arrive you find yourself surrounded by farmland and open country with easy access to walks and beautiful scenery. The immaculately kept courtyard before The Granary has the owners’ property to one side and the parking area to the other.

The Granary has a fully equipped kitchen with a separate utility/cloakroom and a large dining/living room, featuring the original beams and fabulous wood burning stove. From here, step out into the garden surrounded by a wicker fence which is wonderfully private with a table and chairs and a BBQ to grill up delicious evening meals. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two 3ft single beds. The two bedrooms share a shower room with a large walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin.

The Granary is ideally located to explore the Cotswolds with easy access to wonderful places of interest, including Cheltenham Racecourse, historic Sudeley Castle in the village of Winchcombe, Cirencester and it's Roman heritage, and the towns and villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford. If you prefer to arrive by train and explore the area on foot or by bike, Cheltenham Spa and Gloucester train station are just 5 miles from the property.

Reviews

Steven was so helpful with all matters and our welcome was felt before we got there. The house is perfect for a family get together with plenty space and excellent utilities. The kitchen and equipment is to a very high standard. Everything is there that you need. Lovely walks around the area around their lambs and horses was wonderful and we made use of their bbq as well. Will be back! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at The Granary, which was well set up with everything we needed, the surrounding grounds were beautiful and Stephen was exceptionally welcoming. The place was very dog friendly and there was even a secure paddock for the pups to run around. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Enjoyable bank holiday weekend in this comfortable house. 2 large bedrooms, and overall house spacious for our group of 3 adults and a dog. The enclosed, dog-friendly garden was appreciated. Nice wood fire. Stephen was very hospitable and also recommended a great pub for Sunday lunch (The Black Horse a short drive away). Would return.

My spouse, teenage son, and I enjoyed our visit. The Granary was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances we needed. Stephen was a kind and unintrusive host. We loved the quiet and proximity to sheep, lambs, horses, chickens and cats. We were surprised at how large the cottage was. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm, comfortable place to stay near Cheltenham.

Stephen, the Host was fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. He made my family feel so welcome from the minute we arrived. The property and the grounds were fantastic, you can’t appreciate the cottage until you are there in person. The 25 acres which is located behind the property was amazing. We had full access to the Horses and sheep/Lambs, the children loved it. Stephen passed us a few eggs from the chickens which we used in the morning. Can’t wait to return and didn’t want to leave. Thank you again to Stephen and his wife for everything.

This place is a real gem…so picturesque and perfect for our children to safely explore. We even met the newborn lambs and ducklings, which was such a treat. It’s a super spot to explore the surrounding area. The hosts were incredibly friendly and responsive…they thought of everything to make the barn perfectly stocked and homely for the most comfortable stay. Would highly recommend and we’ll certainly be back in the future!
