Reviews

We loved this place. It was hard to leave on the morning of our departure. The surroundings were idyllic. The photos on the website were an accurate representation of the property. It felt like the owners had gone the extra mile to think of everything. A well stocked cupboard including basics like salt, olive oil, milk, tea, and ground coffee. The cupboards have beautiful crockery. The decor was of a very high standard. The patio was a real sun trap and we loved listening to the sounds of nature from the local RSPB nature reserve. It is a great location to visit Oxford. We went to Waddesdon Manor, which was a great day out. I can't recommend this beautiful home highly enough.

We absolutely loved staying at this cottage! It is an absolutely beautiful retreat near the quaint town of Beckley. The cottage itself is very well appointed with beautiful design and comfortable furnishings. We loved waking up to the wildlife in the fields and watching sunsets in the patio. As a note, the local pub Abington Arms is delicious and very friendly. I would highly recommend this spot for a country retreat.

Otmoor House has been recently refurbished, decorated and furnished to the highest standards of any of the self-catered accommodation we have ever stayed at in the UK. The setting and nearby village (including pub) are also beautiful. The beds are very large and extremely comfortable. What more can I say? I can find no fault!

This was probably the most perfect place we have stayed. The location was idyllic and peaceful and close enough to explore Oxford. The house itself had the most amazing finish with an extremely high quality interior. Quite frankly, this would be my perfect home!! Thank you for an amazing stay-we will be back!!!

Such a wonderful weekend away at Otmoor House. The location was perfect, remote and quiet with lovely walks from the doorstep. The house was beautiful inside with everything you needed, and very comfortable for all of us staying there! The Talkhouse in Stanton St.John did a very good Sunday lunch, and would definitely recommend!

We couldn't have asked for a more ideal cottage in which to spend Christmas with our families. We were 3 couples in the house and the set-up was perfect. The kitchen was a great social area when meals were being prepared and cleaned up and the living room was a wonderfully cosy nook in which to crowd around the fire with books and crosswords. Everything we needed was there. The location was well suited for getting away from the craziness of life. Just a short walk from the lovely Abingdon Arms pub. The remoteness of the cottage and its location at the edge of the RSPB sanctuary meant plenty of options for muddy walks, bird-spotting, and stargazing. It was a cosy hideaway for a lovely festive season and am sure it is even more delightful in the mostly sunny summer months. A very helpful book of local tips and recommendations was provided on site (as well as on the booking page ahead of time). Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and quick to reply to any questions that came up.

Great home, quality furnishings well suited to the building. Great entertaining family space and cosy feel. Christmas tree in the front room was a nice touch to help get into a Christmas mood. The hosts were responsive and helpful. We did a day trip to London and also a day at Bicester for shopping, a fairly easy link to both. For us an overall 5-star trip away. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
