Once a potting shed for a horticultural business and now thoughtfully renovated with an alpine aesthetic, this unique barn conversion is a luxuriously spacious two-bedroom bolthole ideal for groups to enjoy. Moonlight Barn’s combination of reclaimed wood walls, tapestries and artwork offer a sense of sanctuary.

Where tradition meets contemporary design, this property offers the ultimate comfort and versatility of a spacious downstairs open-plan kitchen, dining and snug area, featuring a daybed. Soak up the tranquillity of nature in this space, with floor-ceiling windows offering a prime view of the garden, alongside an abundance of natural light into the property. The cosy living room features two large sofas, underfloor heating and high ceilings, with its warm colour tones providing a delightful opportunity to settle down for the evening. This carefully considered haven is excellent for socialising and spending quality time with loved ones.

Spend sunny days enjoying your own private garden, accompanied by outdoor seating for eating and drinking al-fresco. Bunny rabbits may even be spotted darting around as you approach the property. Should you wish to venture out for the day, explore the charms of your local area on foot or travel by car to Oxford to discover the historic city’s most-loved attractions.

Ground Floor


Kitchen/Dining/Snug:
The spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area is a great space for gathering for breakfast and dinner. The kitchen is well-equipped with a large island, two fridges, a freezer, dishwasher, kettle, microwave, filter coffee jug and a single oven and hob. There is a sizeable dining table that seats four people. A snug area has a large sofa facing the patio doors, overlooking the garden and a daybed which acts as a bed for a fourth guest.

Living Room:
The beautifully furnished living room is decorated with warm tones with two large sofas and an armchair to relax in. This room also features a coffee table, smart TV and French doors leading to the patio and garden. The ski themed décor and high-ceilings nod to its alpine character.

Utility Room and Cloakroom:
You enter the property into the utility room, a practical space with the facility to store shoes and coats. This space features a washing machine and dryer as well as a basin. There is a shower room in this space too, containing a WC, shower and basin.

Luggage Room:
This space doubles as a luggage/ storage room and a walk-in wardrobe for any guest staying on the living room daybed.

First Floor

Bedroom One:
A spacious room with a king-size bed under the barn’s charming vaulted ceiling. The room also contains two mirrored wardrobes and a blanket box at the foot of the bed for storage and a dressing table.

Bedroom Two:
A single bed sits alongside the wall adjacent to wardrobe space and a chest of drawers. This room also contains a blanket box and a mirror.

Bathroom:
In the bathroom there is a WC, shower, basin and bidet.

Outside

To the front of Moonlight Barn there is a private lawned garden, perfect for soaking up the sounds of nature, playing outdoor games and for dogs to run around in. The patio space wraps around the property, housing one set of table and chairs and an array of potted plants. On the lawn, there is another table and chairs, beneath a pagoda that the owners constructed from mulberry trees and lined with fairy lights, a peacefully quiet spot to enjoy a BBQ outside or watch the stars. There are two parking spaces on the gravel outside the five-bar gate leading to the property. On the other side fence, there is a pond.

Oxfordshire is home to several impressive farm shops, each with their own individual character. The Wild Pig Farm Shop is within walking distance of Moonlight Barn, offering an array of goods including home-reared rare breed meats and produce curated in their on-site Butchery, Delicatessen and Smokehouse. Or you can drive through the scenic Cotswolds countryside to Wells Farm Shop and Café, its award-winning cheese counter providing the best picks for an unparalleled cheeseboard, alongside a delicatessen filled with carefully sourced British produce. Sandy Lane Farm is another farm shop close to Moonlight Barn and offers fresh eggs, vegetable boxes and bread.

Venture into Oxford for an abundance of shopping selections in places such as Westgate Shopping Centre and various small independent shops. Oxford Covered Market in the heart of the city is home to over fifty specialist traders, each offering a unique array of products from gifts, food, drink, jewellery, fashion to flowers. There is also a small Marks and Spencer’s food hall in Stadhampton as well as a Sainsbury’s in Heyford Hill (8.3 miles) for your groceries.

Eating out:
  • The Crazy Bear, Stadhampton – offer a selection of Thai Food – bookings recommended (1.2 miles).
  • The Lamb, Little Milton – a classic English pub with pizza nights and BBQ nights during week (2.7 miles).
  • Le Secret Garden – Mediterranean-French fusion cuisine (4.2 miles).
  • The Bat & Ball, Cuddesdon - Michelin listed country pub (4.8 miles).
  • The Beetle and Wedge, Moulsford – scenic dining riverside restaurant (13.3 miles).

Walks:
If you walk out of the main gates and along the track towards the road, cross over and wander through the fields and woodland you will arrive at The Wild Pig farm shop where they serve coffees, teas and bacon and sausage rolls for breakfast. Artisan food is also available at the shop. It is here that you can begin the Ascott Park trail, taking you around the site of a historical landmark, known as being the location of the Dormer family's former manor house that burnt down in 17th century.

  • Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Chipping Norton – Jeremy Clarkson’s famous farm shop selling produce grown on the farm, other local produce, their own brand of alcoholic products ‘Hawkstone’, as well as offering burgers at their onsite dining spot ‘The Big View Café’ (38.7 miles).

Travel:
  • Bus no. 11 (Oxford Bus Company) from the end of the track takes you right into Oxford
  • Train - Didcot Parkway train station (10.9 miles) offers frequent and direct services to Oxford and London Paddington and Oxford Parkway (15 miles) also offer a direct route to Marylebone.

Nestled in the small village of Stadhampton, Moonlight Barn is situated in an ideal location. The Crazy Bear pub in the village is a great place for a quiet drink. If you follow the track and head towards the road, you can walk to a local farm shop, The Wild Pig, selling local produce and artisan foods. From the farm shop, you can take a walk along the historical trail of Ascott Park. Oxford is the closest city to the property and offers a vast selection of attractions including independent shops, restaurants and cafés as well as being deeply historical.
