The Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham

Events Experience

Date: 12 – 15 March 2024

The Cheltenham Festival is world-famous. Held at Cheltenham Racecourse, which sits within a gentle bowl, surrounded by hills, it is often referred to as one of the prettiest racecourses in the country. This four-day event is undoubtedly the pinnacle of the jump racing calendar. This year is particularly extraordinary as the festival celebrates 100 years of the Gold Cup.

This feast of all things racing heralds the start of festival season in the spa town of Cheltenham and the town bursts into life after the winter slumber. Be part of the revelry as locals and visitors alike navigate the highs and lows of the Cheltenham races.

The Cheltenham Festival takes place over four days. Champion Day, Festival Day, St Patrick’s Day and lastly Gold Cup Day. For racing lovers, this is therefore an event not to be missed. Champion Day gets the festival underway and is the day of the Champion Hurdle,  which sees the best hurdlers in the business compete for the spoils. Festival Wednesday is all about speed (it’s also Ladies Day). Featuring the Queen Mother Champion Chase. It’s fast, and furious and therefore requires inch-perfect skill to negotiate the 13 fences accurately. Thursday is St Patrick’s Day, a true celebration of the Irish and the passion and the craic are subsequently off the scale. The iconic Gold Cup takes place on Friday. This is the one they all crave. Jockeys, trainers, and owners alike, the Gold Cup is the holy grail.

Be part of the action in 2024 and hear the Cheltenham roar yourself as the horses round the final bend. Whether you simply want tickets or the full-blown hospitality experience there are multiple ways to enjoy the Cheltenham spirit. Cheltenham is popular so plan in advance. Book your accommodation and tickets early and enjoy the incredible atmosphere from the grandstand or exclusive hospitality area.
