The fairytale village of Broad Campden hides thatched cottages and houses of Cotswold stone amongst glorious countryside. Tucked away, Studio Cottage is a romantic hideaway where you can really get away from it all for some rest and relaxation. Its stylish interiors are bright and welcoming, highlighting the exposed beams in the wonderful living area. Stroll to the village pub, explore the walking routes and pop to Chipping Campden, Broadway or Blockley to experience Cotswold life.

Overview

This Cotswold haven draws you in before you’ve even stepped through the door. The views of pretty cottages, open countryside and enticing village pubs that you pass along the way set the scene for your stay. Once you arrive and take a breath of fresh air in peaceful Broad Campden you feel the weight of the world drift away.

Beneath the thatched roof is a contemporary styled upside-down cottage with added smart features where Alexa will turn on the lights for you. On the first floor the open plan living area sits beneath an A-frame of exposed beams where you will spend your time together. This quirky space really lets the original features shine and is split into three zones for cooking, dining and relaxing. If you go out for dinner you can come back for a movie night or snuggle up with a book and a glass of wine. If you choose to stay in and cook the kitchen has everything you need. The ground floor bedrooms offer flexibility as both have a king-size bed which can be arranged as a twin. From each bedroom is an en-suite shower room so you won’t be stepping on each other’s toes in the morning.

At Studio Cottage you have your own private courtyard where you can serve meals or just soak up some sunshine. Just beyond your doorstep is a maze of walks, making miles of countryside feel like your own back garden. The Cotswold Way starts from Chipping Campden while the Monarch’s Way passes through the village letting you walk to the delightful village of Blockley.

Ground Floor

Bedroom One
The simple elegance of bedroom one makes this room feel incredibly relaxing. The king-size bed can be arranged as a twin if needed making this suit friends or younger guests. There is plenty of storage space and even a smart TV for lazy mornings.

En-Suite
In the refreshing en-suite there is a rainfall shower alongside the WC and basin.

Bedroom Two
The second bedroom is monochrome in style with dark furniture and fresh walls. This room also has a king-size bed which can be a twin if needed to suit your group. At the end of the day you can get tucked in and watch TV before asking Alexa to switch off the lights.

En-Suite
Mirroring the first en-suite, here there is a rainfall shower, WC and basin.

First Floor

Open Plan Living/Kitchen/Dining
The angled beamed ceiling of The Studio adds unique character to this room. The highlighted beams shape this room making it nice and cosy, creating a special place to stay. At the end of the room is a sitting area with a sofa and armchair set around the smart TV. At the centre is a dining area seating four and the kitchen is tucked into the side, cleverly designed to have everything you need from a fridge/freezer to a dishwasher. The washer/dryer is hidden in a cupboard under the stairs.

Outside

Sitting away from the road, the private courtyard is a little peaceful haven. A table and chairs give you space to eat on sunny days and there’s a handy umbrella to keep you sheltered. Your explorations of the Cotswolds start here, heading out whether in the car or on foot to discover your surroundings.

Idyllic stay

We stayed 2 nights in this charming cottage. The village is beautiful. It’s very nice to walk to go to the pub, where the food is very good. We loved our stay in family here.

Céline

Very clean and modern inside. The property had everything we needed and wanted. Coffee/tea were in the kitchen. Cows across the road came to the fence if you called them.

Helen

A stunning little cottage. Pristine and modern inside. Very comfortable in every aspect with great open plan space upstairs. Kitchen well equipped too. The village of Broad Campden is absolutely stunning with a plethora of thatched cottages. In fact the most beautiful of all the villages across the area we visited. And the local pub…. what a gem. A short walk from the cottage and the food and service was wonderful. I’d highly recommend this stay as a gem of peace and tranquillity.

Gillian

A picture perfect house elegantly & thoughtfully designed for a very comfortable privilege of a stay. Big thanks for having us.

Perfect Getaway

Verified Up Front Reviews
We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely cottage, everything was perfect and so quiet. Spotlessly clean with lovely furniture and fittings. Two beautiful en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor with amazing loft style open plan kitchen-diner-lounge upstairs, tv in both bedrooms and upstairs and car parking. This is a perfect place to stay, enjoyed Sunday lunch at The Bakers Arms and short distance to local towns. Would highly recommend, hope to return.

Josephine

Location was beautiful in a picturesque Cotswold village with a really excellent pub, The Baker’s Arms. We can really recommend the food which was way above average pub fare. The cottage and facilities were picture perfect with every comfort and modern convenience. There were lots of interesting places to visit nearby such as Chipping Campden, Burford and Stow as well as National Trust properties, Snowshill and Hidcote. The only thing missing was a serrated bread knife!

Studio Cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
Cottage was very modern and clean. Location was great walking distance to a fabulous pub that we had two beautiful meals. My only downside to the Cottage was the gate it wasn't dog proof as my French bulldog could get underneath, and the showers only having a rain head and no hose and as a lady you do not want to wash your hair every day so I found showering very difficult but other than that Cottage was beautiful Would I recommend the Cottage? Yes would I book again absolutely?

Three night stay for too adults and a 2 year old.

We arrived late Monday afternoon after a long drive and we were delighted with the location and the look of the Studio inside and out. It was a really lovely place to come back to after a long day of exploring the area. We really felt at home there, I regret not booking one extra night. We had everything that we needed at the Studio, the travelcot for our son was ideal. There was plenty of room for him to play with his tractors. We didnt cook much but could see that there was plenty of choice when using utensils. We felt we were staying in real luxury. The sofa was slightly dissapointing, this is a small detail but we have stayed in many places where there is a corner sofa and plenty of room for two or more people to relax. We didnt find this sofa very comforatable but it didn't effect us too much as there were only two of us adults. Sadly we also found the bed slightly hard, I found it difficult to make myself comfortable at night and my husband woke up in the morning with a painful back. Despite this we did manage to sleep quite well. In regards to cleanliness, it was great, very clean on the whole, although when picking clothes from the floor and checking under the bed, we found an old sock and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned under the bed for a while. This is being very picky because other than that the cleaning was pretty perfect. The area was quiet and peaceful and we felt very safe, we would come and stay here and use Bolthole Retreats again. The Studio was a perfect size for us and was in the perfect location. The welcome guide was extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our holiday, and the property and Bolthole Retreats were a big part of that.

Lovely house in a beautiful village. Very well presented.

Great place to stay

Verified Up Front Reviews
Great dog friendly cottage perfectly located for local walks and an excellent pub. Well equipped and comfortable for us 2 but lounging could be a squeeze for 4. Lots of tech - slightly baffling at times but got used to it including bathroom lights coming on randomly with no movement at night and also turned off whilst in the shower! Heated towel rails were nice but couldn’t seem to control (sometimes on and sometimes off) which made bathrooms very hot when not needed. Note one bedroom has no window. Was a beautiful cottage in wonderful location.

Great stay

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had a lovely stay at studio cottage. Everything was done to a very high standard and the location was perfect. Our only (not complaint) point was the bathroom light and fan kept coming on throughout the night but we expect that will be an easy fix as we did ask somebody to pass this on. Thank you for such lovely accommodation.

Beautiful cottage and great location

We had 3 glorious days in the cottage with our friends and 2 labradors - well equipped, 2 bathrooms, off road parking for 2 cars, walking distance to village pub, close to Chipping Camden and Broadway which are both stunning - really enjoyed our short stay and would recommend.
