You’d be forgiven for assuming Primrose Cottage was simply another pretty face in Broad Campden’s parade of honey-hued Cotswold stone, but step inside and the centuries stretch out around you. There are great sweeps of exposed stone, ancient beams angled just so, and a living room that practically roars with its cavernous open fire. Beyond the front door, stroll to the village pub, lose yourself on winding walking routes, or hop over to Chipping Campden, Broadway and Blockley for a taste of quintessential Cotswold life.

Overview

At first glance, Primrose Cottage looks every inch the classic Cotswold hideaway. Charming windows, a light blue doorway and a picture-perfect setting in Broad Campden. Inside, however, it’s full of glorious surprises.

The living room wraps you in cosy comfort, with soft neutral tones, wooden beams, and a beautiful, exposed stone wall. The huge open fire is ready to be the heart of your stay, whether it’s the background to morning coffee or lazy evenings with a glass of wine. The kitchen brings a modern twist: spacious, stylish, and made for cooking up feasts, with deep navy cupboards adding a bold touch. Upstairs, the bedrooms are bright and impossibly inviting, dressed in plush linens with their own sleek en-suites. The attic room is tucked beneath sloping beams, making it feel like a well-kept, cosy secret.

Step through the French doors from the kitchen into your private outdoor space - a stone terrace set with a table perfect for long summer lunches or evening drinks. A few steps up, the garden opens out: full of lush green grass and flowers with a BBQ ready and waiting. And when you’re ready to venture further, Broad Campden’s village pub and lovely walking routes are just a short stroll away, with Chipping Campden, Broadway and Blockley all within easy reach.

Gorgeous cottage in a rural location, but only a short drive to both Blockley and Broadway. There is also a really nice pub, known fir its good food, just a 10 min walk away. Lovely enclosed garden which was perfect for our dog, could let him out and not worry about him escaping. Quite steep steps to the first bedroom, which is large with an ensuite bathroom. Then another set of steps to the 2nd bedroom which has its own door for privacy. This bedroom is smaller but cosy, and again has its own ensuite bathroom. This bedroom does have some low beams and quite a few head bumps took place before we got used to crouching in these areas. We would have liked a downstairs bathroom to avoid climbing the stairs. There is also not a full length mirror anywhere in the house, which could easily be fixed to the inside of a wardrobe door, or in the hallway. There was also no welcome pack, just a pint of milk. Would still highly recommend this property, especially for the garden and location.

Caroline

Beautiful Cottage in the Cotswolds, would highly recommend for a peaceful, luxurious getaway.

Gorgeous little cottage

Gorgeous little cottage, newly renovated with a lovely garden. Very clean and beautiful open fire. Perfect with a dog and in a chocolate box village with a decent pub for dinner. Great walk to Chipping Camden so no need to keep getting in the car if you don't want to.

Pippa

The property was in excellent condition and extremely well presented. Our needs were very well catered for, and the cottage had everything we needed.

Bob

Beautiful spacious cottage, tastefully decorated and extremely clean. Had an amazing time and only wish we stayed longer? Fireplace was brilliant and we really enjoyed that. Highly recommended

Perfect stay!

We had the most fantastic time at Primrose cottage for a 5 day getaway to the Cotswolds. It was beautifully clean and has everything you would expect for a holiday home. Everything inside the cottage feels modern, cosy and new. Very thoughtful decoration and interior. Loved the kitchen and en-suites design. Beds, sheets and towels all excellent quality. Comfy sofa, TVs in every room. Great, enclosed garden for our little dogs. 10/10, would definitely recommend. It’s a perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of the Cotswolds, lots of quaint towns and villages near by. Food at the local pub and the pub in Broadchurch were great.

Enos

Our few days at Primrose Cottage where lovely , beautifully restored cottage, gave a home from home feeling , everything we needed, lovely garden , shame we weren’t here in the summer months to enjoy it.

Beautiful cottage and perfect location

Stayed here for Christmas week. What a fantastic cottage, lovely location near a pub and then a 25min stroll into chipping campden which is beautiful with lots of pubs and shops. The property was very well organised with so much storage and supplies in the kitchen it really did feel like a home away from home. Everything was very clean and tidy when we got there and loved the set up of all the smart light control etc. also had games and jigsaws to keep you busy, our dog loved the closed in garden with room to run..Will definitely book again.

Amy

Wonderful and relaxing

Verified Up Front Reviews
Beautiful cottage spread over 3 floors in a good location and with fully enclosed garden for the dogs to play in, with everything you could need for a relaxing break. It was particularly cosy in the lead up to Christmas with the addition of a tree and decorations. Just a 1/2 hr walk to the village and shops of nearby Chipping Campden. Lots of public footpaths surround the village to enjoy lovely walks. We hope to return in the spring/summer to really enjoy the long walks and would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful cottage in peaceful location

Verified Up Front Reviews
We loved this cottage which is excellently equiped and had a lovely secure garden for the dog. Very comfortable in every way - beds, lounge, dining area and great kitchen and bathrooms. There are only two minor improvements I would suggest: 1 a downstairs loo would have been great 2 a hand rail or rope on the two stairs would be helpful for us more senior people. It would also be helpful to have clearer instructions for the TVs - we only wanted to watch terrestrial TV but it was difficult to navigate through the miriad of channels.

Outstanding cottage in stunning location

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had an amazing 4 nights at Primrose cottage we could not rate the cottage highly enough. Everything was 5 star the cottage has been renovated to very high standard which has perfect mix of modern and original features which inc a beautiful fireplace which we lit every night and the xmas tree was a nice touch. Externally the cottage has a great garden which due to staying in November we could not get full benefit. Location wise the cottage is on a quiet road in broad campden which is like a picture postcard every house and garden is beautiful and is about 20 min walk into chipping campden which is charming and this area is our new favourite place in the cotswolds we always have 1 break a year in this part of country as my partner attends your horse live show and we will be looking to stay here again next year

Daniel

Fantastic place in the heart of the Cotswolds. Bakers Arms pub up the road serves amazing food and is cosy with its fires. The garden is fully secure, beds are really comfy and we got a couple of cars parked directly outside no problem all week. Chipping Campden is a 24 minute walk with places such as Broadway & Bourton on the water only a short drive away.

Greg

Primrose Cottage is a delightful place to stay. It is cosy and comfortable but still light and airy. It's been newly renovated and everything is immaculate. I cannot recommend it more!

Beautiful stay at Primrose Cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
We had such a lovely stay and were so impressed from the moment we walked in. It was just what we had hoped for. The interior design was gorgeous and a pleasure to spend time in. Beautifully clean and felt like new. We loved the design books and found the maps helpful. We wished we could have stayed longer and would love to return. A couple of bits of feedback- We found the directions a bit tricky ( maybe that was just us) We arrived on the last few days of September and were looking forward to a cosy fire, to discover that there was only wood provided from the 1st October. We are Australian, so maybe we are not as used to the chilly weather. A few amenities we assumed would be provided were not, like - shower gel, kitchen towel, olive oil (or something for cooking). We have appreciated being provided with little welcome baskets at other accommodation of similar standard.

Emma

Perfect in every way

A picture postcard location and a really lovely cottage, couldn’t fault it. Will definitely stay again.

Trudi

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and had all the homely comforts you could possibly need. The setting is lovely and peaceful, with a pub just up the road and Stow-on-the-Wold only about 20 minutes away, making it a great base for exploring the area. The shower was amazing, and the beds were super comfy – we all slept so well! Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Primrose Cottage

Verified Up Front Reviews
Primrose cottage is perfectly situated in the stunning village of Broad Campden. We felt blessed to be staying in such a heart warmingly beautiful setting. The cottage is kept immaculately and is very comfortable and cosy. The garden is fabulous and 100% secure for our doggies and the kitchen is very well equipped. The decor is lovely too. We were missing a few essentials in the kitchen and the property management staff brought it along in 20 minutes from me emailing them which was so appreciated. The village pub - Bakers Arms - adds another highlight to staying in Broad Campden. It is a perfectly intimate, gorgeous space and the food is just amazing. A few minutes drive up the road is Chipping Campden which has some lovely tea rooms and restaurants and a little supermarket for essentials. It is also a beautiful little town full of thatched cottages. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Melanie

Nice cottage in the Cotswolds

Verified Up Front Reviews
Newly renovated property with all amenities and not many guests before us as some kitchen amenities had obviously not been used. Perhaps could have provided tea/coffee/sugar and a coffee machine rather than the cafetière. As it is a cottage there are low ceilings and beams so care needs to be taken. However that being said the rooms were spacious. The back garden is lovely and totally enclosed if you are bringing a dog. Garden furniture and BBQ provided. Lovely pub about 5 minute walk and comfort walk in to Chipping Camden. Good for access to northern Cotswolds villages and steam railway at Broadway we highly recommend.

Beautiful old cottage that is furnished to a stylish and very high standard. The cottage has everything you could want, and a secure garden for the dog. Located at the edge of a lovely Cotswold village, very quiet and peaceful, and a nice walk into Chipping Campden. Lots of Cotswold villages/ towns close by. We had a perfect stay and hope to be back soon.
