If you’re looking to be whisked away to a land of idyllic countryside and picturesque scenery, this is the retreat for you. Pickett Cottage, with its rose adorned entrance, truly peaceful setting and exquisite views is what you picture when you hear the words “Cotswold cottage”. From the honey-hued glow of the stone to the woodburner and homely bedrooms you are a world away from the hustle and bustle. Walks lead you from the doorstep to nearby Northleach with exceptional pubs and historic sites as you stroll through the Hampnett Valley.
Full Description
Nestled in the valley of Hampnett, Pickett Cottage is a secret hideaway for couples or families with children over the age of seven. One of a row of old worker’s cottages, it oozes charm and character. Roses bloom, footpaths lead off into the idyllic countryside and a stream rolls gently by.

The open plan living area introduces you to Pickett Cottage. A warming space which opens before you, it is light and roomy, cleverly split into a sitting, dining area and kitchen. The cosy sitting area is set around a woodburning stove with enough space for everybody to relax. At the end of the day this is a lovely spot to read a book or just switch off and watch TV. A generous dining table can be laid for meals which have been lovingly prepared in the traditional kitchen. The range cooker is a focal point here with its herb tiling. Upstairs are two quaint bedrooms with a master which showcases the stone this area is so well-known for. Each bedroom has its own bathroom so there are no queues when you’re getting ready to go out and nobody is on top of each other.

Pickett Cottage has a beautiful garden with views across the nearby fields. Spread a blanket on the lawn to read and take meals outside to linger in the evening sun. From your doorstep you can join the Monarch Way and reach Northleach in 20 minutes where you find independent cafes, delis and award-winning pubs.

Ground Floor

Open plan living/kitchen/dining
Snippets of Cotswold stone show through in this spacious living area, reminding you of your historic surroundings. The living area has two sofas and an armchair so you can stretch out and rest weary legs if you’ve spent the day walking. Light the fire and pop the TV on to really luxuriate in your relaxation.

Open the French doors to the garden and gather at the dining table for meals accompanied by a gentle country breeze. You can easily take meals outside from here.

A traditional kitchen stretches across the rear of this room with oodles of cupboard space and a fantastic range cooker. You will find everything you need to accommodate you during your stay.

First Floor

Bedroom One
Take a moment to spot the picture on the landing showing what this row of houses once looked like and you’ll see not much has changed. Bedroom one with its king-size bed has retained some of this original charm with exposed stone. The peaceful view looks across the hamlet urging you out of bed in the mornings to head out for a walk. Built-in wardrobes let you unpack and there are bedside tables.

En-Suite
The compact en-suite has a shower, WC and basin.

Bedroom Two
Adding flexibility to the sleeping arrangements, the king-size bed in bedroom two can be arranged as two single beds. Looking out over the garden, open the windows in the morning to be greeted by birdsong.

Shower Room
Next door to bedroom two, the shower room acts as an en-suite. There is a shower, WC and basin.

Outside

Set the dining table and enjoy your meal with the gentle scent of roses filling the air. A raised lawn is perfect for stretching out in the grass and playing with the dog. There is a high drop at the front of the garden so ensure pets are supervised.
