This elegant 4-bedroom house is set in a peaceful spot in the pretty village of Lower Swell just outside Stow-on-the-Wold, surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Cotswold’s most popular highlights. With a spacious kitchen, living room, bedrooms and private garden, the property has both the space and everything you could need for a truly delightful stay.

Gather for breakfast in the immaculate kitchen, made with eggs purchased from the local farm and spend cosy evenings in the living room by the log fire. Every room is a carefully curated space, with exceptional attention to detail and the highest quality furnishings. From the beautifully crafted wallpaper and tiles to the soft patterns of the cushions and upholstered sofas, every finishing touch is thoughtfully considered. The master suite is a luxurious space with its own en suite and dressing room. With a master, double, twin and single, the sleeping arrangements offer flexibility for groups and families.

The generous garden offers spaces to relax and play or indulge in an al fresco dinner on the garden terrace. With the Cotswold’s idyllic villages and rolling hills on your doorstep however, you will spend most of your time discovering why this is one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Lower Swell is just a short 3-minute drive to the fabulous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold known for its pubs, restaurants and winding streets with independent shops. D’Ambrosi Fine Foods offers delicious chef-prepared dishes to enjoy in shop or to take away, a small, curated selection of hand poured candles, flowers and gourmet treats. Also nearby is the renowned Daylesford Organic, offering a luxury farm shop experience or Diddly Squat Jeremy Clarkson’s now infamous farm shop. Even closer to home, Fir Farm in Lower Swell has a farm vending machine offering fresh milk and apple juice, homemade ice cream, free range eggs, sourdough and different cuts of pasture-fed beef. Stow has several shops and boutiques, including Fairfax and Favor and The Cotswold Co. For groceries. Stow has a Tesco or M&S Food to Go.


Eating Out:
  • The Golden Ball Inn – a quintessential village pub with garden, pub classics and daily specials (0.2 miles or 4-minute walk).
  • Old Butchers – a stylish eatery in Stow specialising in seafood and house-made charcuteries (1.5 miles).
  • The Porch House - not only Britain’s oldest inn but home to the finest British fare for miles around (1.5 miles).
  • Lucy’s Tearoom - one of the Cotswold's most photographed tearooms serving a traditional cream tea (1.4 miles).
  • The Wild Rabbit, Kingham – part of the renowned Daylesford Organic collection serving the best seasonal produce available (5 miles).

Walks:
From Lower Swell, a great circular walk is to head north-west through fields to Donnington Brewery, continue on to the peaceful village of Broadwell, then loop back via Stow-on-the-Wold. The route is around 6–7 miles and takes about 3 hours at a relaxed pace, with a lovely mix of rolling countryside, quiet lanes, woodland paths, and classic honey-stone Cotswold villages. It’s a quieter alternative to the more touristy Bourton walks, with plenty of opportunities for a pub or coffee stop in Stow, including The Porch House or The Bell at Stow.

  • Stow-on-the-Wold – just a short 3-minute drive (or 5 mile walk), Stow is a beautiful market town with winding streets, lined with pubs, café, boutiques and little shops (1.5 miles).
  • Bourton-on-the-Water – a picturesque Cotswold village renowned for the stone bridges which crisscross the River Windrush (4 miles).
  • Daylesford Organic - the famous luxury farm shop experience with restaurants on site (5 miles).
  • Chipping Norton - The celebrity hotspot of the Cotswolds with a beautiful high street (8 miles).
  • Cotswold Farm Park – Much-loved rare breeds farm park overseen by BBC presenter Adam Henson (7 miles).

Train - Kingham Station and Moreton-in-Marsh Station are within a six-mile drive. Both have trains that run from London Paddington.
