The cottage itself takes you back in time to a world of exposed beams and flagstone floors, with an AGA and woodburning stove for a truly authentic experience. Made for a family retreat you will find yourselves needing to return to tick everything off your list of things to see and do.
Full Description
Between Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, Longborough is a secret retreat and Mouse Manor makes the perfect bolthole. Nestled amongst open countryside you have everything you need on your doorstep. The village pub, Coach and Horses, will welcome you for evening drinks or a meal and the village shop makes sure you can stock up on essentials and a taste of local produce during your stay.

Amongst the quiet streets lined with Cotswold stone houses sits Mouse Manor. Hugged by greenery it is an adorable cottage with a wealth of personality. Flagstones line the floors, wooden beams are above and in the kitchen the AGA is a beautiful addition. Whilst retaining its traditional heritage you will feel at home here. The cosy sitting room and kitchen make up the ground floor while above are two bedrooms and a bright bathroom. Outside, the garden is the cherry on the cake. Stretching before you there is space to dine and you can safely let the dog out. After long country walks and days spent visiting beautiful neighbouring towns, spread out a blanket and enjoy the peace and quiet, occasionally accented by the church bells.

There is so much to see and do in this golden triangle of the Cotswolds, you are spoilt for choice. Sezincote House and Gardens, Batsford Arboretum and Cotswold Farm Park are much loved attractions, and during the Summer months you are in a prime spot to attend the Longborough Festival Opera.

Ground Floor

Living Room
This cosy nook, warmed by the fire, is the embodiment of Cotswold life. Coming back from a day out and about, pour yourselves a glass of wine and take in your surroundings. As the fire crackles you can appreciate the changing hues of the exposed stone walls and the characterful wooden beam. Let the children watch TV while you flick through a magazine, gazing out to your view of rural life.

Kitchen/diner
The golden tones of Cotswold stone, flagstone flooring and centrepiece AGA take you back in time in this traditional country kitchen. A table set for four invites you for dinner and you can step out to the garden for evening drinks.

First Floor

Bedroom One
Village views of a quiet cottage lined street greet you in bedroom one. The double bed rests between bedside cabinets where you can set your cup of tea as you enjoy a lie-in. To one side, built-in wardrobes are tucked away providing plenty of storage.

Bedroom Two
Two single beds nestle in this peaceful bedroom which looks across the garden at the back of the house. For families, this room is great for the children as there is a TV to provide entertainment and keep them out of mischief.

Bathroom
A cheerful pop of colour brings life to the bathroom which has a bath with a handheld shower and a separate shower.

Outside

Planted borders, hidden pathways and secluded sunny spots make it hard for you to drag yourself away from the garden at Mouse Manor. It stretches before you with a dining terrace and lawns, blooming with life and colour in spring and summer. Reviews

We loved our stay at Mouse Manor. It’s the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds golden triangle. The cottage was lovely and cosy, we enjoyed sitting by the log burner with a glass of wine and our dog Logan (who also enjoyed his stay). The bed was comfy and the linen felt cosy and fresh. The back garden was a welcome addition and Logan loved exploring. The local shop and pub are a stone's throw away and both well stocked and inviting. A wonderful stay and will definitely be back to visit Mouse Manor or maybe one of the other beautiful properties Bolthole Retreats has.

Location

Longborough is uniquely placed to offer the best of the Cotswolds. On one hand, it offers the epitome of a charming country village. Pale golden houses, tree-lined lanes, a community-led village store and a friendly pub. Part of its appeal, however, is that it has remained unspoilt and whilst in one of the most popular parts of the Cotswolds still offers an authentic experience. On your doorstep, however, are some of the real highlights that you want to see. Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford are all within a 30-minute drive. Head the other way and Broadway is less than 10 miles. It has everything you need but without the crowds.
