Lower Farmhouse is a Cotswold farm stay consisting of the old farmhouse and a worker's cottage. Todenham Farmhouse and Stockmans Cottage sit across from each other with views over the well-tended farmyard and surrounding countryside. Shop for supplies at the award-winning farm shop and enjoy walks with the dogs over the fields. Todenham Farmhouse sleeps ten over five bedrooms, while Stockmans Cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms. The farmhouse is ideal for families with a snug for the children and large dining room, while Stockmans is a lovely hideaway for couples that are staying with you. Todenham is perfectly placed for exploring the north Cotswolds, heading to historic Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton in Marsh to visit Batsford Arboretum and Sezincote. Enjoy the luxuries of Soho Farmhouse and Daylesford Organic, just a 20 minute drive.

Overview

Staying at Lower Farmhouse you can experience a Cotswold farm stay and explore the surrounding countryside from your doorstep. An award-winning farm shop is next door and you can have a meal out at the farm's chic eatery, Herd. Head out for walks along the local footpaths, visit Charlecote House, Longborough Festival Opera and the towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Built of glowing Cotswold stone, the farmhouse and cottage sit slightly apart, giving those staying at Stockmans Cottage extra privacy. Todenham Farmhouse has a spacious layout with a sitting room and separate snug, traditional cottage kitchen and elegant dining room. Five bedrooms offer flexibility and each have their own en-suites. Stockmans Cottage has an upside-down layout with two bedrooms on the ground floor, which also both have their own en-suite. Upstairs the open plan kitchen/sitting room with wooden beams adds some history and character to your stay. The dining room overlooks the pristine farmyard and you can spot sheep in the distance.

The garden at the farmhouse has plenty of space for everybody to spend time, walk the lawn with your morning cup of coffee, host a BBQ and gather for games with the whole group. There is also a section of the opposite field which is fenced off for your own use, perfect for exercising the dogs first thing in the morning.

Fabulous property, very comfortable, good facilities - cleanliness in some aspects not great

Verified Up Front Reviews
Property is gorgeous, very comfortable, plenty of room for 10 people without being crowded. Decorated in a lovely neutral way. Everything you needed was provided from kitchen equipment to lovely soft towels in the bathroom. We did need to wash the crockery and cutlery on arrival as much of it was dirty - dried on food/tea stains. There was also a mouse and mouse droppings in the main bedroom (which in a way added to being on a farm!)

Guest

Thank you for your review and for your kind comments about Lower Farmhouse. We're delighted to hear that you found the property comfortable, well-equipped and spacious for your group, and that you enjoyed your stay overall. We are sorry to hear that some of the crockery and cutlery did not meet the standards we expect on your arrival. This is not reflective of our usual housekeeping standards, and we have shared your feedback with the housekeeping team to help ensure this does not happen again. As Lower Farmhouse is located in a rural farm setting, occasional wildlife can sometimes find its way indoors despite regular pest control measures. However, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we have followed up with the property manager to carry out further checks. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Excellent Accomodation and Location

Verified Up Front Reviews
The accommodation is situated on a working farm nestling amongst beautiful countryside. It was excellent providing all we needed for our family retreat. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, a real bonus when nine people from three age ranges are holidaying together. This was a special family break bringing together people who hadn't seen one another for a number of years from the UK, Australia and Canada. Everyone was very complimentary of the accommodation and it's excellent facilities and location.

A great property for a gathering of friends

Verified Up Front Reviews
We were a party of 5 couples; the farmhouse and cottage suited us perfectly as each room had its own en-suite and there were options which suited different needs. The properties were clean and comfortable; the garden was pretty and very well kept and the whole farm site was immaculate. We were pleased for the house manager’s prompt response when the first couple arrived to find there was no key in the key safe - very quickly remedied, thank you. We had a meal at the Herd restaurant - we loved the ambience and convenience of the place, and the food was great too! As a dog friendly property, the kitchen was a little small for 2 large dogs with large dog beds; if the snug had a solid floor that would be an ideal space for them overnight, as they wouldn’t be disturbed by early risers who weren’t their owners! The gorgeous garden was enclosed but not escape proof (or maybe the dogs in our group were just unusually determined to find a way out but they soon responded to the call to return!). Overall it was a wonderful place to stay and we would happily consider returning for another reunion weekend.

Marion

Amazing stay, loved visiting the restaurant on site, and very easy to get to from Moreton in Marsh station. Highly recommend

Fabulous stay

Verified Up Front Reviews
A great place to stay - we were 7 friends so all had a really comfortable bedroom and bathroom (in the main house and the cottage. The living room was perfect for us but may have a bit small for 14 if you wanted to be in the same place, but there was a small TV room and a big lounge in the cottage too so plenty of places for people to be apart as well. The kitchen in the main house was great although could have done with some more dessert spoons so we borrowed some from the cottage as we all ate in the main house. A lovely big dining table (which would have seated 12) and a perfect place for a special dinner (we hired a great chef from yhangry). The top floor bedroom was huge but there is a low beam above the bed at about 5'4" so remember to duck unless you're short. Bedding was really comfortable, crisp cotton sheets and everything super clean. As soon as we can agree a date we'll be booking up again for next year. One request would be for magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms for us older folk with poor eyesight!

A few days on the farm

Verified Up Front Reviews
Spacious, yet cosy house. Everything you need for a great stay. Loved the location and the farmshop and Herd restaurant were a great bonus. Would definitely stay again.

Sarah

Fabulous venue for our lovely friends hen party. We had a very minor issue with the wifi on the first night but this was resolved immediately. The property and gardens were beautiful and a plus to have an en suite in every room!

Ashley

Perfect place for a 90th Birthday

Verified Up Front Reviews
The standard of the accommodation was exceptional. The bedrooms were all spacious with good hanging space and drawers, each with a bathroom. The added bonus was that there were enough walk in showers to mange 3 elderly relatives who all had their own bedroom but had a safe option of the walk in shower. The lounge was comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. Parking was ample and there was no feeling of being overlooked despite other properties fairly close. Could not fault the property and would absolutely recommend.
