Full Description
The quiet village of Great Wolford, where Glasfryn nestles, is a wonderful example of Cotswold living just a stone’s throw from Chipping Norton. Amongst the golden cottages, this home sits in an elevated position with views across the surrounding treetops.

Glasfryn makes you feel at ease and is an ideal spot for a country retreat at any time of year for family and friends. Once a well-loved family home it has a beautifully planted garden for spending summer days and a cosy woodburning for the cooler months. The living room and snug become host to board games and evening drinks while the separate dining room provides the perfect opportunity to eat together and put phones away to enjoy conversation. Cook up a feast using the AGA in the kitchen and know that you have a restful night’s sleep ahead in the light and spacious bedrooms, two of which have an en-suite. Outside, fire up the BBQ and set the table for al fresco meals, or enjoy the peace and quiet in the mornings before filling your days with memorable activities.

Surrounded by countryside with a plethora of charming villages to explore, Glasfryn is an unrivalled base for exploring this area. Bring your walking boots and take the family dog for a country stroll across the fields, head to nearby Batsford Arboretum, Sezincote House or one of the many towns and villages.

Just a short detour from Long Compton are two protected, ancient monuments, the Rollright Stones, dating from Neolithic times, and a stone circle known as the King’s Men, dating from the Bronze Age.

Reviews

This is a really lovely property, very spacious and ideal for gatherings of family or friends. The living spaces are generous, and having two living spaces meant everyone had somewhere to relax. The bedrooms are also sizeable, clean, and comfortable. The property has plenty to make your stay comfortable: plenty of kitchenware and utensils (I was able to make a couple of desserts with ease), and the Aga means the kitchen is always warm. There are plenty of books in most of the rooms, and a good range of DVDs too. It feels like a family home and it made for a cosy and happy stay with guests from 2 to 80. We didn't use the outside spaces because of the weather, but they are really nicely maintained and would be ideal in drier weather for being/eating outside. The hosts, Bolthole Retreats, were responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property for your stay.,

We enjoyed our stay in Glasfryn house, which is warm, cosy, clean, nicely decorated, secure and quiet. The home is well equipped, providing a relaxed stay for our family. It is in a good location to nearby walking trails and lovely Cotswolds towns just a short drive away. Bolthole Retreats were very easy to work with, responsive and provided good communication. We would be very happy to stay again.
