Whether you’re celebrating something special or just fancy a quiet countryside break, it’s an easy place to switch off, with the option to make your stay extra special thanks to complimentary access to a stunning heated indoor pool with views across the distant undulating hills. With private access, you can fully unwind with a massage or facial beside the pool, turning your couple’s getaway into a relaxing spa escape.

Spread across the first floor, Ferny is blessed with uninterrupted countryside views, where trees sway in the gentle breeze and sheep graze peacefully on the distant hillside. The bright, stylish interior and high-quality furnishings create a cosy, welcoming space where couples can relax together. Sink into the super-king size bed after a busy day exploring the countryside and enjoy slow mornings with freshly brewed coffee in bed. A well-appointed kitchen with dining area is ideal for easy meals at home – prepared with fresh local produce and artisan delicacies sourced from the area’s excellent farm shops. A comfy sofa and Smart TV make will tempt you to spend a quiet evening in.

Step outside onto your private balcony and soak in the peaceful surroundings – the perfect spot for a glass of wine as the sun goes down. In the warmer months you can sit and watch the cows from the neighbouring farm graze in the field directly below, their playful calves following behind – a quintessential country escape.

Set across one level, the property is a first-floor loft accessed by a steep timber staircase.

Kitchen/Dining/Living
The open-plan layout of the living areas offers a snug, inviting space for relaxing and preparing meals. The charming kitchen area, fitted neatly beneath the barn’s sloping roof, provides all the essentials with addition of a Tassimo coffee machine. Meals can be eaten at the breakfast bar or in the small dining area with a table and chairs. The living area has a stylish corner sofa perfect for guests to cuddle up and watch a movie on the smart TV.

Bedroom One
This generous loft-style room with pitched roof offers all the necessities for a luxurious and restful night’s sleep. King-size bed, high quality linens, neutral furnishings and soft lighting all add to the serenity of the room. A feature window above the bed is a thoughtful design choice while another window can be opened wide to let in the fresh country air and views of the surrounding countryside that change with the season.

En suite
The bedroom’s spacious en suite has been thoughtfully designed with large walk-in shower with quality black fittings. Stylish tiles with a wood panel effect give the en suite the feel of a spa or sauna. Toilet, basin and hand soap provided.

A private balcony offers a place to relax with table, chairs and fantastic sweeping views across the farm and countryside beyond. The stylish, heated indoor pool is a beautiful, calming space with floor to ceiling windows offering countryside views. Rattan armchairs are provided to relax and unwind and a poolside shower, changing cubicles and toilet is also provided. Timed slots for the pool can be booked with the owner as can spa treatments for an additional fee, subject to availability.

  • Legges - one of the most renowned farm shops in Herefordshire, an Aladdin’s cave full of locally sourced, artisan products. Bromyard (6 miles).
  • Oakchurch Farmshop – A family-run farm shop and garden centre set in the heart of the beautiful Herefordshire landscape, nicknamed the Harrods of Hertfordshire. Hereford (17 miles)
  • Westons Cider - Explore the UK's largest cider collection of oak vats during a Weston’s Cider Mill tasting tour. Meet the shire horses, grab some food in the Scrumpy House restaurant and take some cider away with you from the mill shop. Much Marcle, Ledbury (15 miles)
  • The Hop Shed Brewery and Tap Room – Enjoy award winning beer from this brewery just outside Worcester with pop-up food offerings on a Friday and Saturday evening (12 miles).
  • Nearby you can also visit The Hop Pocket shopping village, a selection of independent shops housed in old agricultural buildings, including converted hop kilns, or the Labels Outlet Shopping Centre for clothing, food and drink and luxury cinema.
  • Hereford, Ledbury and Malvern are all known for their independent shops.

  • Three Horse Shoes – a family run pub in Little Cowarne with great food, garden and pool table (Approx 15 minute walk 0.8 miles)
  • Olive Tree – Italian restaurant with a great selection of pasta and pizzas (Ledbury 13.2 miles)
  • Under the Nut Tree – specialising in local produce and outdoor BBQ-style dining, with a fantastic garden space (Outside Hereford 23 miles)
  • Newton Court - Restaurant, farm shop, café, cider tour hub and bar – everything a cider lover could desire. Leominster (8 miles).
  • Three Choirs Vineyard - one of England's oldest vineyards, located south of Ledbury, where you can immerse yourself in the charm of historic vineyard and indulge in mouthwatering cuisine at their brasserie. Newent (17.9 miles)

Walks:
For a short walk you could follow the Little Cowarne Circular (approx.1.5–2 miles). A gentle walk around the quiet lanes and fields of Little Cowarne village. Enjoy the rural views and stop off at The Three Horseshoes for a leisurely lunch and pint. For a longer walk try out the Hegdon Hill Trig Point Loop (approx 3.4 miles). Beginning in Little Cowarne, this route leads through fields and woodland up to Hegdon Hill, which offers panoramic views across Herefordshire and even the Malvern Hills on a clear day.

The Malvern Hills are just a 20-minute drive away and offer some fantastic walks. Whether you just want to explore a small section or follow the trail along each of the peaks you will be rewarded with incredible views across the region.

  • Hampton Gardens – set in the grounds of Hampton Castle, visitors will discover a waterfall, 1,000 year-old yew tree maze or you enjoy coffee and cake in the pretty Orangery Café (6.3 miles)
  • Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum offers acres of scenic woodland and walking trails as well as café, visitor centre and gift shop (6.3 miles)
  • Newbridge Farm Park, Aylton – an adventure for children with a playground, go karts, soft play and so much more (13.5 miles)
  • Eastnor Castle – surrounded by a deer park and arboretum this is a great family day out visiting the castle and walking the grounds. It is also home to the Land Rover Experience where you can book an exhilarating drive (15 miles)
  • There are a number of exceptional National Trusts nearby including Brockhampton, Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and The Weir Garden (All under 20 miles away.)
  • Ludlow (21 miles) and Ledbury (14 miles) - Market towns with independent shops and historic buildings.
  • Malvern Hills – head out into the great outdoors and explore this beautiful region on foot (12 miles).
  • A little further – If you’re feeling adventurous you can head south to the River Wye for a spot of canoeing with spectacular views (30 miles) or enjoy a day out visiting the Regency town of Cheltenham (37 miles) or Gloucester docks with its famous tall ships (31 miles).
