Overview
You’ll book Bell Cottage because of its perfect location, and stay year on year for its warm welcome and bubbly personality. Next door to The Bell with views down Church Street and up to The Bull, you couldn’t be more in the heart of Charlbury. Leave the car behind and hop on a train for a break away from it all in this golden part of the Cotswolds.
Sitting over three floors, Bell Cottage is a whimsical choice for families or friends to explore from, though you might find you prefer staying in. You will lose time relaxing in the sitting room where the open fire crackles and you can read a book, watch TV or just gaze as Charlbury town life passes by the window. The kitchen has everything you’d expect of a traditional country cottage and you’ll spot original features of an exposed stone fireplace and wooden beams. Exploring upstairs are three bedrooms, all at different corners of the house. Antique furniture and pops of colour from animal print chairs and throws make them a joy to discover. Up on the top floor the family bedroom has a double bed and a day bed which can be arranged as two single beds, perfect for anybody staying with younger children.
Step outside to your enclosed garden, a terrace with a dining area and charcoal BBQ. This hidden spot is a breath of fresh air and perfect for sunny days. You are just steps away from cafes and a deli so why not head out in the morning to pick up supplies for the day and a fresh coffee to get you going.

The Location
Charlbury is a small but lively and vibrant market town that has escaped the hordes of Cotswold tourists, making it a justifiable member of the ‘Undiscovered Cotswold Club’, yet it is only an hour from London by train and just 15 minutes’ drive from Soho Farmhouse. We had a great time in the Bell Cottage! We felt at home instantly and the owner, was very helpful and provided us with some top recommendations. The place was tidy and clean and full of characters and charme. The cottage is situated in the heart of Charlbury, literally next door to the Bell Pub with very good food. Also the Bull Pub, equally excellent food, just seconds away. Allround - very excellent!
Florian

Rebecca
Very cute cottage. Perfect location. They have lots of very thoughtful details; coffee capsules, sweets and an honesty bar. The owners were lovely and very communicative. Highly recommend

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Charlbury

Bell cottage has been designed and styled to give a country cottage feel. The owners personal touches and attention to detail make it feel very much like a home from home. The kitchen is well equipped. The lounge has an open fire. The location is within walking distance of a fab coffee shop called The Missing Bean, which is well worth a visit. The pub next door The Bell does great food. The Bull is another gastro pub.
