Overview
Spending time in Northleach at Antelope Cottage makes you feel at home in the Cotswolds. The welcoming town, though small, has everything you’ll need. You’ll be staying just a stone’s throw from the centre with its shops and unmissable pubs.
Each room has been wonderfully styled with carefully thought-out details, combining neutral colours with eye-catching textures and artworks. The cottage suits itself to guests wanting to stay in or just to use it as a base as you tackle the Cotswolds. Relax in the cosy living room, lighting the fire for added atmosphere and warmth and make the most of time with friends and family. In the evenings you can head out for a meal, not having to worry about who drives, or stay in and cook at home. Two charming bedrooms are a retreat at the end of the day, and perfect for enjoying being on holiday with a long lie in. A double and twin room make this the perfect romantic retreat, or a bolthole for a small family or friends.
At the back of the cottage there is a small courtyard and you are just a handful of steps from a bakery, pubs and cafes. For a day out visit Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water, two quintessentially beautiful Cotswold villages. For a taste of culture head to the larger towns of Cheltenham and Cirencester to see the beautiful architecture, browse the shops and attend a show at one of the many theatres.

Wonderfully located Cotswold break

Antelope Cottage is perfectly located for a break to appreciate the Cotswolds, we had a wonderful long weekend with my Sister and Brother in Law to celebrate my birthday. We were only a short distance from all of the beautiful must see Cotswold villages and all of the Jeremy Clarkson highlights. Northleach itself is well served by local amenities, including a well stocked Budgen's and The Wheatsheaf Inn which has amazing food (so good we ate there four times!), the pub also had a very pretty veranda garden where you can sit and relax to enjoy the sunshine, food and drinks. We would definitely stay at Antelope Cottage again.

A gorgeous cottage

The cottage is in an excellent location, clean, well equipped and cosy and we appreciated all the welcome food gifts provided for us on arrival. We would certainly stay again.

Antelope Cottage is very well located in the centre of Northleach. The property itself is immaculate, nicely decorated and was perfect for our visit.

My friend and I spent an amazing weekend in this beautiful house. It was very warm and welcoming, and the kitchen had everything. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We walked to the local shops and on Saturday night we enjoyed live music at the pub. It was a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. I highly recommend.

Since we opened the door we felt at home. A very cozy place with attention to detail. The kitchen is super well equipped, the living room is great for spending a quiet moment before going to sleep. The rooms are peaceful and with very beautiful light!
Gina
Loved the town, great walkable location and lots to explore by bus.

A lovely cottage, great location

A lovely cottage, great location for local amenities and pub/restaurants. Generally very comfortable but Antelope Cottage does need some investment upgrades to fixtures and fittings.
Diane
We had a fantastic Christmas at Antelope Cottage. The cottage had been completely brought into Christmas spirit by the caretaker, when we arrived. Super nice! The 18th-century cottage has been beautifully restored and, from what used to be the horse stable of the 18th-century Antelope Inn, converted into a cosy home. The cottage is equipped with every comfort and super nice and tastefully decorated. You feel immediately at home as soon as you enter. From the cottage you can walk to the picturesque centre of Northleach and by car you can perfectly explore the beautiful Cotswolds. In short, we can absolutely recommend this cottage if you want to experience the real Cotswolds feeling!

We came for a wedding and it was the perfect place, close to the church and the venue. Horrible weather outside (December) but the heating system and the hot water worked great. Also having the fireplace with the e-candles made the evening very cosy.

A dreamy cottage in a quaint village

We recently stayed at this cottage in the Cotswolds and overall had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, easy to find, easy parking, and situated in a charming village where it was simple to pick up essentials. The décor throughout the cottage was lovely and made for a cozy stay.
There were, however, a few things that could be improved. The towels were quite thin, and there were no basic supplies such as shampoo, laundry detergent, or coffee for the french press. The cottage also didnt have a clothes dryer, which made washing clothes a bit inconvenient . The front door lock was difficult to operate, and the street outside was extremely dark at night. The upstairs bathroom lighting was poor, and it was hard to see in the small mirror, so I recommended travelers to bring a travel mirror. Additionally, the main bedroom bed was not very comfortable and felt quite small for two people.
Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the charm and style of the cottage. With a few upgrades, this could be an exceptional place to stay.

Stay at Antelope Cottage

We have stayed in Bolthole properties every time we've visited the UK and loved the each one. This one however, had some things we think could be improved upon. While the property decor was lovely, there were some issues not up to par with others we have experienced. The bath towels provided were very thin and with no towel warmer did not dry. No bathroom shampoo or shower gel was provided and that was not noted in advance which we did not expect. This was an issue as we were traveling from abroad and did not expect in a higher end property. The washing machine did not also dry clothes. There is not a microwave in kitchen which is ok but should be noted and is unusual in a holiday home for quick meals.
On the positive side, the location is great and the pub down the street is great. With just a few tweaks this cottages could be a 10!

A cute cottage well placed to explore the Cotswolds

Antelope Cottage was cosy and well equipped. The beds were super comfy and the lounge was snug.
There were a few niggles:- the power tripped one evening; the front door knob needs to be tightened; the fresh water tap drips; and the kitchen dresser left draw handle is very loose. There also appeared to be only 1 bin in the house in the kitchen.
But overall I would recommend the cottage. It was a relaxed and cosy stay. Northleach is a lovely little town and and a great location to explore this area of the Cotswolds.

A really lovely stay

We had a lovely stay at Antelope Cottage. The cottage itself is well maintained, beautifully decorated and comfortable with everything you could possibly need available. The added touch of breakfast pastries on arrival was really lovely.
The location was perfect - it was a short 10/15 minute drive in each direction to get to other popular villages such as Bibury and Bourton on the Water. It was a 30 minute drive to Cheltenham. The local pub served us a delicious meal so this is really worth a visit too.
Thank you for a wonderful break!
Michelle

Lovely Cottage

We recently stayed in Antelope Cottage for a 10 day vacation in the Cotswolds. We couldn't have been more delighted with our stay. The cottage is exactly as pictured. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The instructions to get to the cottage as well as access the keys were simple and clear. We loved the location. Very easy to drive to so many different villages and explore the countryside. We loved the village of Northleach. The two local pubs were fantastic, the small grocery store made it so easy to pop over to get supplies and there were a couple of options to get a coffee or tea and pastries as well.

Lovely place in lovely town. Not too many tourists

We enjoyed our stay. The house is small and the floors a bit uneven as per usual in the cotswolds. All provisions were there and the owner was very responsive. Would be nice to have info on and to have been able to recycle.

Good location to explore the area

The cottage was lovely, clean & well equipped. It's in an ideal location to explore some of the surrounding towns and villages. Also good to have the pub virtually on the doorstep! We ate there a couple of times.
When we had an issue with the hob, both the owner & housekeeper were very responsive and the problem was quickly resolved. Can I suggest some copies of instruction books for appliances would be helpful in the property though.
All in all it was an excellent stay and my husband & I enjoyed our few days away.
