The fabulous Millets Falconry in Frilford is family-owned and run and owners James and Sharon along with their children love sharing their passion for the natural world with their visitors.
There is a wealth of experiences to enjoy with something to delight and thrill all ages. For example, VIP Entry gives you a hands-on experience with a guided one-hour tour. You’ll learn about how the birds live in the wild, as well as how they are trained in captivity. Similarly, there will be plenty of opportunities to handle several birds and take photos. You will then also work alongside the birds in the flying demonstration. For something more in-depth why not book the VIP Day Experience? Spent in the company of one of the experienced falconers you’ll gain an unrivalled insight into what it takes to train these magnificent birds of prey. Then, why not let your little one’s imagination run wild with a Junior Zookeeper activity? They’ll learn about the exotic animals that are cared for at Millets Falconry Centre and it includes cleaning, feeding, and handling.
In addition, other experiences include meerkat and raccoon encounters, owl and bird of prey encounters and the memorable Hawk Walk. This will be a walk in the countryside, unlike any other. With a trained falconer experience the thrill of a Harris Hawk swooping down from the treetops to land on your gloved hand. Pre-booking for this experience, however, is essential.
The centre has over 100 birds of prey – from owls and hawks to falcons and vultures – but it’s not just birds of prey at Millets Falconry, there’s also a menagerie of meerkats, skunks, raccoons, and reptiles. Come for a general visit or book a special event, maybe a birthday outing or a group activity.
