Stratford-upon-Avon is the much-lauded birthplace of celebrated playwright William Shakespeare, and therefore, it’s fitting that this ancient market town also plays host to Stratford Literary Festival – one of the most significant literature festivals in the UK.
Twice a year, in May and October, the great, the good and the unsung of the literary world participate in a diverse schedule of literary debates and ideas interwoven with celebrity author events and interactive workshops at the Stratford Literary Festival. This fabulous festival has grown in stature since its inception and attracts a wide variety of speakers from across the globe who entertain thousands of visitors that share a passion for books, writing and reading. This year’s Autumn Festival starred Sir Michael Morpurgo, Matt Lucas, Clive Myrie, Clare Balding, Marcus Brigstocke, Philippa Gregory and Tom Holland, among many more.
