Forest Live

Westonbirt

Events Experience

Month: July

Forest Live is a magical music event that takes place in some of the finest forests in the UK. Here in the Cotswolds, we are certainly lucky enough to have one such location – the National Arboretum at Westonbirt.

Westonbirt Arboretum came into being almost 200 years ago. Today, it is home to one of the most beautiful and important plant collections on the planet. There are 15,000 specimens and 2,500 species of trees from all over the world and Westonbirt is a beautiful place to visit in all seasons. It also plays a vital role in research and conservation.

Close to Tetbury in Gloucestershire, Westonbirt is a stunning forest location for Forest Live. It is a undoubtedly unique experience, listening to live music under the tree canopy. Rag’n’Bone Man, Keane, Madness and Jess Glynne have all performed at Westonbirt in previous years. The music is brilliant, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The 2024 line-up so far includes Anne-Marie on 5 July and Nile Rodgers and Chic and Sophie Ellis Bextor on 12 July. By purchasing your tickets for Forest Live through Forestry England you thus help protect and preserve the forest for generations to come.

Westonbirt is a wonderful place to visit at all times. With the choice of refreshments at Westonbirt visitors won’t go hungry. The Kitchen Restaurant is a sit-down option that is open daily. The Pantry is a grab-and-go kiosk offering sandwiches, cakes, fresh coffee and local ice cream. Lastly, the Smokehouse is open on Saturday and Sunday for wood-fired pizza and burgers.  The Westonbirt shop offers the opportunity to pick up local and regional souvenirs including books on the arboretum. If you want to bring your four-legged friends, there are specific areas where they can be on and off the lead although there are also a few areas where dogs are not permitted.
