We had a wonderful stay - the cottage was clean and had all the amenities needed (the coffee machines were a nice perk!) and the beds were comfy. A great setting, easily walkable to the local shops and pub, and a short drive from other popular villages in the Cotswolds. Bolthole Retreats included lots of helpful info before and during our stay - with local recommendations and the checking and checkout process was super easy. Would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay at this Bolthole Retreats cottage in Stow. The location was perfect — just a short 5-minute walk into town, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. The garden was a real highlight: beautifully maintained and such a tranquil spot to relax in. Inside, the cottage was warm, welcoming, and homely in its decor. Everything was clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The host was also very helpful and quick to respond, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. All in all, a wonderful stay, and I’d definitely recommend this place to other families visiting Stow. We'd be happy to return!

Location

Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the Cotswolds’ most popular, historic wool towns, full of honey-coloured buildings, cosy pubs, tiny tearooms, narrow streets, independent boutiques, art galleries and antique shops as well as an impressive choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes. This is a working market town too, so there are all the general amenity stores and services you need, including food shops, banks, a pharmacy and a Post Office. Nearby Moreton-in-Marsh (4 miles) and Kingham (5 miles) have train services to London Paddington (from 90 minutes).
