Events Experience
Date: 27th January 2024
Festival Trials Day is all about the anticipation. It’s the last opportunity to see the runners and riders in action before the famed Cheltenham Festival. Which takes place in early March.
Whilst nothing is written in stone, Festival Trials Day does undoubtedly give a picture of what may come to pass. It’s a day of seven races. Each one is a trial for the March festival and therefore a hugely important fixture on the race calendar. The feature race is the Paddy Power Cotswold Chase which creates plenty of excitement. There is always a buzz about the Festival Trias Day, with people keen to visit and enjoy the day. Just be careful which tip you listen to!
Raceday style at Cheltenham is ‘dress to feel your best’. The important thing is to feel good but also be comfortable and ready for whatever the weather may choose to do. Do bear in mind this is the UK and it’s January. There are lots of wide-open spaces so come prepared. There are three enclosures to enjoy the racing from. The Best Mate Enclosure offers excellent value for money, and you’ll enjoy superb views of the racing likewise a variety of bars and food options. The Club/Tattersalls Enclosure gets you up close and personal to the Winners Enclosure, which offers spectacular views and a wealth of food and drink outlets. The Club Enclosure is the premium experience with access to all the main public areas, world-class views, and the Hall of Fame. You also have access to the pre-parade ring and viewing.
For those who want to indulge in a little retail therapy then the shopping village offers a distraction from the racing. There is a wealth of suppliers to browse selling everything from equestrian and country-style clothing to unique homewares and furniture. Contemporary art to gifts, cards and even designer millinery.
