Reviews

We first stayed at Buff Lodge during Christmas 2019. Now under new management, the property has been beautifully refurbished and tastefully decorated with the addition of two new and very comfortable sofas. It was just lovely to be back ! Very much looking forward to our next stay at Buff Lodge in the not too distant future.

The accommodation was so pleasant, clean, with comfortable beds, and beautiful outside seating, dining, and lounging area. Kitchen was well equipped with a comprehensive set of necessary items to cook and prepare meals. We really enjoyed our relaxing break there. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage. First time in the Cotswolds. I must have looked at 100 different options before deciding, and this one had everything I wanted out of our stay and a break from London's hustle and bustle. This was a lovely, picturesque village with beige stone houses and plants. In the countryside, without being too remote. Great links to places we wanted to visit. I love that I could see and hear horses from the bedroom and sheep a bit further on. We also wanted to be able to sit outside and there was lovely garden space. Cottage was spacious with lots of light and the kitchen had so much provided. All rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated. I also like that, as soon as I booked it, all relevant information was provided immediately and clearly. Parking is outside, in the yard and away from the street. Highly recommended.

A great cottage at very affordable price to explore Oxford and Cotswold. We stayed 5 days as a family and everything was perfect. Super clean, spacious, all needed amenities are there. We didn't have a car but it was easy to get to Oxford nevertheless as the cottage is only one train stop away and the trains are quite frequent. Would love to stay again in the future.

I would definitely visit again. The village of Tackley is beautiful with very friendly locals and a great local pub and shop. A short train ride takes you into Oxford.

A perfect cottage, probably the best we've stayed at. Very well equipped and stylishly furnished. Excellent all round. 4 mins walk to the station and then one stop to get into Oxford was really convenient. 2 parking spaces in the courtyard off the road was great and the whole property felt safe and secure. We'll certainly hope to return in the future.

Location

Tackley is a charming village with a strong sense of community. The Village Shop is run by the locals and offers a wide range of groceries, newspapers, locally grown produce and freshly baked goods. The Village Hall hosts a pop-up pub on a Friday, which is well supported and a wonderful way to meet the locals. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are just three miles away, whilst the ancient university city of Oxford is only 10 miles away. There is a bus stop with a direct service to Oxford moments away and a direct rail link to Oxford, London, and Bicester Village, within walking distance.
