Full Description

The bright coloured décor and gas ‘coal-effect’ fire exudes a real home-from-home milieu in the living room, as do the bedrooms. The county-kitchen is stylishly furnished, equipped with all necessary amenities and more. For larger parties, there’s an abundance of space in the cottage. Wake like a king and queen in the four-poster bed or hide away from it all on the top floor en-suite double bedroom. There’s also two single bedrooms with TVs on the first floor, ideal for children or adults alike.

Ground Floor

The Living Space:
Step through the traditional front door and you instantly have a sense of country living. To the left of the hallway is the open-plan dining room with a country-cottage table for six people and views to the cottage’s pretty front garden. The dining room leads through into a large well-equipped kitchen with a Range Master Kitchener oven, BOSCH dishwasher, freestanding fridge/freezer, plenty of kitchenware and SONY docking station (iPhone4 connection). The kitchen leads into the sun-trap reading room with two cosy sofas and views of the Cotswolds beyond the garden to the rear. Stepping back through the hallway you’ll find a cosy living room to the right, boasting a coal-effect fire, sink-in sofas with bursts of colour and bright dual aspect windows, with views to the front and back gardens. Modernists needn’t worry, with a 40″ Sharp TV and WiFi on hand to ensure you stay well and truly up to date with the 21st century during your stay. The ground floor also homes a handy cloakroom WC.

First Floor

Upstairs, 4 well-proportioned bedrooms sleep up to 6 guests (please bring your own linen if you are using a cot):

Bedroom One:
The four-poster master bedroom is found on the first floor to the left of the cottage’s staircase, boasting the same bright views of the front garden outlook that the cottage’s living room enjoys. An eye-catching antique four-poster bed, large dressing table and freestanding wardrobe make this a generously-proportioned room. Across the hallway is the family bathroom.

Family Bathroom:
Shower over bath and plenty of space.

Bedroom Two:
This bedroom has a single bed and dresser.

Bedroom Three:
This bedroom has a single bedroom and wardrobe.

Second Floor

Bedroom Four:
This en-suite double bedroom is the entire top floor, with large fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and beautiful views of the Cotswolds and the cottage’s back garden. Perfect for younger guests or adults who want to escape to their own floor.

Outside

Hidden away in the somewhat secret village of Laverton just outside of Broadway, Swallows Rest Cottage is perfectly placed for those seeking the peace and tranquillity of a country escape, with the benefit of having the amenities of Broadway a short drive away. The cottage is accessed from the front with parking to the rear. Swallows Rest Cottage sits prettily alongside a row of fellow cottages on a very quiet country lane. The real gem of the cottage is its private garden, perfect for families and accessible either through the cottage or from the gate at the rear. This spacious outside area affords the cottage plenty of al-fresco dining opportunities thanks to a dedicated outdoor-dining set and American Smoker BBQ. The perfect space to unwind in after a day exploring the Cotswolds, the garden is beautifully maintained with plenty of greenery to give it a real English country garden feel.

Points of Note
  • Noise: Swallows Rest is situated in the middle of a residential area, in consideration of our neighbours we respectfully request that noise levels are kept to a minimum after 10pm, especially outside on warmer evenings.
  • Fireworks: We appreciate that fireworks might be fun to have for a celebration, but they present too high a risk in a built-up area with some very old houses neighbouring our property. Therefore, please do not use fireworks in any area, inside or outside, while at Swallows Rest. We hope you understand our concern.
  • Parking: Space for 2 cars at the rear and one at the front

Reviews

Absolutely gorgeous cottage and perfect location for sightseeing and walking. Would definitely come back and would highly recommend to others. Nothing to fault in any way. Super place to stay

A wonderful place, even bigger than the photos suggest. Amazing views, and incredibly relaxing. Thank you.

Our party consisted of four adults, a three-year-old and a baby. Swallows Rest suited us all. The children loved the garden, and the house provided a choice of travel cots plus high chair. Having two sitting rooms, one with direct access to the garden, was a bonus. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we were pleased to find a bag of dishwasher tabs - a holiday cottage first. Comfortable beds and quiet surroundings make for restful nights.

Fantastic property. Very clean. Great location.

We had a wonderful break using this outstanding cottage as our base for exploring the Cotswolds. Lots of attention to detail and the property is a delight and short of nothing at all, a true ‘home from home’. It is situated in a lovely quiet spot and there are numerous walks from the village to be enjoyed. We did that but also found all the well-known (beautiful) Cotswolds towns and villages were within a few minutes drive by car.

Location

The town of Broadway with its honey-coloured cottages is just a 2-minute drive from the cottage. It offers a range of different activities for children and adults. Start the day with some excitement at Broadway Playpark, or find a real bird’s-eye view of the Cotswolds from the top of Broadway Tower. There’s a great choice of restaurants, pubs and galleries to be found in this vibrant town. There are also some fabulous walking routes right from the front door of Swallows Rest, and if you want to try something new with the family, give cycling, fishing and horse riding a go, all very near the cottage.

The nearest convenience stores are in Broadway, with Warner’s Budgens and Nisa stocked full of the essentials you’ll need for a well-catered break. The nearest major supermarkets can be found in Evesham (20-minute drive), where an M&S Simply Food, Tesco Superstore, LIDL, ALDI, Morrisons and Co-Operative Food offer you plenty of choice when it comes to stocking up.
