Rural Cotswold surroundings are what draw you to Rose Cottage in the peaceful village of Bredons Norton. Arriving through lush countryside you will wind around the base of Bredon Hill, a fabulous introduction to this area.
Rose Cottage is ideal for a family getaway with its spacious rooms. Two living rooms let you spread out depending on how you prefer to spend your time and give the children their own space. There is a great ease of movement here with a flow between inside and out, open the French doors in the sitting room to the garden beyond, spilling out onto the terrace on balmy evenings. The kitchen has space to dine and a ground floor bedroom and sofa bed will suit any guests not so fond of stairs. On the first floor are two more bedrooms, both have an en-suite and look out across the fields in the distance. It is a cosy home from home where you feel welcomed and comfortable with everything you will need on hand.
The gardens at Rose Cottage have flowering beds, a choice of seating areas and a lovely garden for the children and dogs. Serve meals at the dining table or say cheers with friends as the sun goes down. You can start walks from your front door making it feels as though the surroundings are your own playground.
Ground Floor
Kitchen
Bold blue cabinets add a splash of colour to this traditional kitchen which has a dining table at the centre seating six across a bench and three chairs. There is a raised oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, everything you could possibly need for a stay with the family.
Snug
Settle in for a night in front of the TV or spend the evening chatting in the cosy snug. There are two sofas and it is a lovely spot to retreat to if you want to curl up with a book before heading out for the day.
Living Room
The main sitting room is spacious and bright with French doors opening to the garden. While the children can play in the snug, the adults can gather here for after dinner drinks. Switch on the fire for added atmosphere and feel at home. One of the sofas here can be converted to a double bed and as this room is tucked away at the end of the house you won’t feel in the way if you aren’t the first to rise.
Cloakroom
The cloakroom with WC and basin is a useful addition for anybody using the sofa bed.
Bedroom One
The ground floor bedroom is made for those with limited mobility with plenty of space for access and an emergency alarm. There is a TV for lazy lie ins in the super king-size bed and an armchair if you’d like to sit up to read before bed. To one side is a dressing area with a stool and chest of drawers and built-in wardrobes.
En-Suite
The en-suite wet room has both an overhead rainfall shower and a hand-held shower, a WC and basin. There are grab rails beside the toilet and shower and there is an emergency alarm.
First Floor
Bedroom Two
Looking over the surroundings fields where you may see a neighbouring horse, bedroom two has a king-size bed. There is a TV and bedside tables with lamps. You’re sure to have a peaceful nights sleep here in this beautifully rural location.
En-Suite
The en-suite shower room has a shower, WC and basin.
Bedroom Three
Bedroom three is similar in style to bedroom two and has a king-size bed. Blue velvet adds a touch of luxury and there is a hanging rail, bedside tables and a TV.

Guests staying in bedroom three have their own en-suite bathroom with a bath with a shower over, WC and basin.
Outside
Stepping out from the living room you are in the beautiful gardens. A main lawn gives space for children to play and to let the dog out and there is space to dine. Two tables seating four are available, one of which is an a paved terrace and the other immerses you in your floral surroundings. Bredons Norton sits between Evesham (12 miles) and Tewkesbury (5.5 miles) within easy reach of charming rural villages. At Beckford (5 miles) visit Beckford Silk for their range of fabrics and beautiful scarves, there is also a café on site. The Old Post Office here is now a lovely café and you will find local artists and makers have a pop-up shop in the courtyard to the rear. For local produce, Hayles Fruit Farm (13 miles) offers pick your own in season and a farmshop. There is also a tearoom so you can treat yourself to some cake after a walk to nearby Hailes Abbey. For a real taste of the country, head to Hampton Farm Shop (10 miles) for some asparagus and plums. The Vale of Evesham produces such fabulous asparagus that it is geographically protected (much in the same way that champagne is).

The Old Post Office, Beckford – pop in to this café for lunch while you’re enjoying a walk in the area (5 miles)
La Vecchia Banca, Bishop’s Cleeve – local Italian restaurant with a welcome, relaxed atmosphere (8.5 miles)
The Swan, Broadway – sitting on Broadways High Street it is perfect for a quick drink or meal (16 miles)
Walks:
Bredon Hill is a beautiful place to explore on foot, and there is no need to drive anywhere to begin a walk. You can head straight out the front door and follow a circular route to the summit of Bredon Hill. Leave Rose Cottage and head into the village along Lower Lane. Follow the road down to the Village Hall and turn left. At the end of this road head right and follow this route around to the left. You will then pass a lane on your right before finding a footpath heading off through the fields alongside some farm buildings. Follow this path uphill, staying left at a t-junction. Continue up until you reach the top of the hill where you can rest a while to take in the view. You will then double back on yourself before heading right across the fields to join a more established path which becomes Woollas Hill then Lampitt Lane back into Bredons Norton.

Stanway House – home of the tallest gravity fed fountain in Britain, Stanway House (open seasonally) is a stunning Jacobean manor (12 miles)
Sudeley Castle, Winchcombe – beautiful castle and gardens with events throughout the year. It is the final resting place of Katherine Parr (12.5 miles)

Bredon Hill has a host of walking routes for you to explore and is also perfect for mountain bikers. Nearby, head into cultural Cheltenham, home to award-winning festivals and the popular races. Broadway and Winchcombe are just a 15 minute drive and are perfect for a day out, visiting Sudeley Castle and shopping along the picturesque high street.
