Here at Bolthole Retreats we are undeniably a company of dog lovers. You wouldn’t think of leaving them at home when you go on holiday, and we completely understand. We know that your dog is part of the family and when you travel their needs are just as important as yours, maybe even more so. When you’re looking for a dog-friendly cottage it doesn’t mean you should have to compromise on location, style or comfort. We hold our pet-friendly cottages to the same standards as those that don’t accept pets.

You will find rural retreats just for two and larger properties accepting up to 4 dogs so that nobody has to be left behind. We have over 100 dog-friendly cottages across the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean and Herefordshire. We’re sure you’ll find the perfect choice from our collection of pet-friendly cottages. Each are unique and what they offer varies from cottage to cottage, many feature enclosed gardens, cosy wood burners, and scenic walking routes from the door.. Some go the extra mile with dog beds, dog bowls and tasty treats. All offer your beloved fur babies a very warm welcome, and many have large gardens so there is space to play. Enjoy long country walks from the door and when you return your furry friend can warm up in front of the woodburner.

In the Cotswolds there are miles and miles of glorious countryside waiting to be explored. A lot of our properties are near well-known walking routes, including the Cotswold Way. You’ll find plenty of dog-friendly pubs and picnic spots along the way, ideal for a well-earned rest. In the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, nature reserves and dramatic landscapes offer unforgettable adventures for both you and your dog with these dog-friendly holidays.
