From the entrance hall's commanding highland bull sculpture to the blush pink kitchen, every inch of Upper Folly has been lovingly curated by its visionary owner - a contemporary artist and designer with a penchant for colour. Set over three floors, this serene spot sleeps six guests who can choose from three king-size bedrooms each paired with luxurious en-suites. Rounded off by glistening gold-tone accents, wall paintings and a roaring wood burner, this refined hideaway is just a stone's throw from a plethora of Cotswold pearls including Chipping Campden, Broadway and Blockley.
Full Description
Nestled within the Cotswold's undulating landscape, Upper Folly is situated in the small village of Paxford - a largely undiscovered spot lying close to some of this AONB's most iconic landmarks. As you approach the home, you'll pass elegant honey-hued homes and tranquil fields that really set the tone for your stay in this blissful part of the world.

Traversing three floors, Upper Folly fuses its Cotswold heritage, visible through a classic stone exterior and rustic beams, with the artistic vision of the owner, who has swathed it with personality. A high point is the elegant blush pink kitchen, which is complemented by a communal island, mustard-hued appliances and sparkling gold-tone accents. From here, push open the bi-fold doors and step down into the home's pièce de résistance - the expansive outside terrace area where comfortable seating and a BBQ invite you to enjoy lazy afternoons. Wander onto the grass lawn and gaze back at Upper Folly to truly soak up its magnificence before gathering friends and family at the fire to roast marshmallows.

Upstairs, two floors play host to plush king-size rooms each with their own luxurious en-suites that are just as sophisticated as the ground floor. And whether you use this colourful space as your base for exploring the high notes of the Cotswolds, or choose to spend your time lounging in the garden and taking leisurely strolls around the village of Paxford, Upper Folly is your invitation to indulge in luxurious countryside living.

Ground floor

Entrance Hall:
Step into Upper Folly's light-soaked entrance hall to be greeted to the home in style. We love the stone flooring, charming cushioned seat and bewitching highland bull sculpture pinned to the wall.

Sitting Room:
Cast in a majestic navy blue colourway accented by mustard yellow sofas, the sitting room oozes style from every angle without compromising on the cosiness created by the crackling wood burner and soft lighting.

Shower Room:
With its discerning slate grey tiles that frame the shower, a string of gold-tone accents and art on the wall, the ground floor shower room is a sneak peak of the elegance to come at the rest of Upper Folly.

Kitchen:
Undoubtedly the centrepiece of this creative home, Upper Folly's kitchen exudes artistic luxury thanks to an array of sophisticated style choices - notably blush pink cabinets, a large island complete with three bar chairs and hanging lights. All the essentials are on hand too, including an oven, microwave, dishwasher and Sage coffee machine.

Dining Area:
Whether you rustle up farm shop finds or tuck into a cheeseboard and wine, Upper Folly's dining area seats six and invites you to pull out a chair and enjoy the tranquillity of this area. Top tip: open the bi-fold doors so the serene sounds of nature can form the backing track for your feast.

First Floor

Bedroom Two:
Mirroring the refined taste of the rest of the home, bedroom two features a king-size bed with storage underneath, generous skylight and splendid wave shaped ceiling light. We love the view of the garden from the French doors and the floral detailing cohesive with bedroom one.

En-suite:
Next to bedroom two, you'll find a sparkling shower room and WC which really ups the luxury element of this space.

Bedroom Three:
There's a distinctly boutique feel to bedroom three, where a king-size bed, in-built wardrobe, curved wall mirrors and beams form the most serene spot to sleep after a day exploring. We love the floral blinds, muted colourways and handy storage under the bed.

En-suite:
Bedroom three's en-suite is a stylish nook complete with a shower, WC and hand basin for freshening up.

Second floor

Bedroom One:
Wander up to the second floor to find sanctuary in bedroom one. With its cloud soft king-size bed and rustic beams providing timeless charm, it's signed off by a luxurious roll top bath that invites you to truly switch off as the sun sinks below the skyline.

En-suite:
Bedroom one's en-suite features a WC and sink, as well as an LED mirror apt for beautifying before dinner.

Outside

Step outside, and you'll immediately feel a sense of calm as you soak up the expansive outdoor space that really brings Upper Folly into its own. Commencing with a luxurious seating area featuring a central fire and BBQ, it continues with a lush green lawn where two seats are positioned perfectly for morning coffee. Wander down to the bottom of the garden and you'll find the most charming handmade seating area congregating around a second fire apt for gathering friends and family.

What a gem. We were celebrating our daughter’s 30th. The house was perfect for 6 adults and 2 dogs and had everything we needed. It was so cosy and very clean. Perfect location for some excellent walks and good pubs in the vicinity.

Great 2 night stay with 2 friends. We all had a luxury ensuite bedroom. Quiet location but on doorstep to Cotswolds towns. Very clean cottage with all facilities including a log burner, perfect for winter evenings. Gorgeous, spacious kitchen and loving the pink cupboards and underfloor heating. Would absolutely recommend Upper Folly for a luxury break

Location

Paxford is a delightful, largely undiscovered village on the northern edge of the Cotswolds, two miles to the east of Chipping Campden. The village has a hall (bookable for private events) and a children’s adventure playground. It is surrounded by fabulous walking and cycling country, with routes in all directions. Guests will find walking and cycling maps at the cottage. Within a few miles are several popular destinations, including Moreton-in-Marsh, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold, and Stratford-upon-Avon is less than 30 minutes’ drive away.
