This quirky converted grain store makes an exciting base for friends or a small family to stay in this charming area. Staying in this circular silo with its curved stairs and unique layout you can enjoy far reaching views of quiet farmland from a new perspective. Set between the Cotswold delights of Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford, with wonderful country walks on your doorstep, The Silo is a rural retreat from the busy everyday.
Full Description
You feel a buzz of excitement when you arrive at this unusual round building in a wonderfully quiet location. Its industrial corrugated exterior fits this countryside setting perfectly and it has been lovingly converted into a comfortable holiday retreat.

As you race in to find your way around, you will find the master bedroom on the ground floor with French doors looking out across the garden. Embracing the shape of the silo, this super king-size bedroom has wooden beams above mimicking sun rays and in the en-suite the circular shower is a wonderful addition. The open plan living area has a dining table in front of the stunning views with kitchen units shaped along the curved wall. Spend time here over evening meals and board games with the Juliet balcony doors open to really appreciate this area. The sofa here can be converted to a bed while the second bedroom is on a mezzanine second floor.

Outside, race across the fairytale bridge to say hello to the horses in the neighbouring field and gather at the picnic bench for summer BBQs. There is lawn space for the dogs to play and you will find a network of footpaths you can follow with the D’Arcy Dalton Way passing close by. While you may feel secluded from the real world, you are just a short drive from Blenheim Palace, Chastleton House and Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens.

Ground Floor

Bedroom One:
Hidden at the back of The Silo bedroom one makes the most of this stunning location. The super king-size bed looks out to the French doors which provide access to the terrace. It is a wonderfully light room with wooden beams above, bedside tables and an armchair where you can enjoy the view no matter the weather. To one side a dressing area and chests of drawers are hidden behind a curtain.

En-Suite:
Beside the dressing area is a circular shower with a rainfall head for a truly immersive experience. At the opposite end of the bedroom you will find the WC and sink.

Utility:
When you first enter The Silo there is a small utility area with a washer/dryer and sink. Here you will find space for boots and bags and you can dry off muddy dogs after a country walk.

First Floor

Open Plan Living/Kitchen/Dining Area:
The hub of the Silo, the open plan area encompasses the first floor with high windows bringing the outdoors in. French doors open to a Juliet balcony beside the dining area which seats six on comfortable chairs. At the centre of the room is the sofa which can be converted into a double bed. Curl up here and watch a film on the Smart TV as you relax at the end of a busy day. The kitchen has been fitted along the curve of the wall with an oven and hob, dishwasher and statement red fridge/freezer tucked under the stairs.

Second Floor

Bedroom Two:
Up on the second floor, the double bed sits low to the ground on a mezzanine level overlooking the open plan living area below. A beautiful room divider adds privacy and there are two armchairs if you’d like choose a book from the basket before settling down for the night. There are drawers in the bed for storage.

Bathroom:
In the compact bathroom there is a bath, WC and small sink sitting above.

Outside

From bedroom one, open the French doors onto the terrace where there is a charcoal BBQ and picnic bench for relaxed meals. To one side is a lawned area, perfect for letting the dogs out, while down a few steps there is a wooden bridge crossing a gently flowing stream between two gravelled gardens. Beyond are open fields and the horses Sammo and Fleur might come to say hello, just please don’t feed or disturb them. There is parking directly outside The Silo for two dogs and additional spaces are available on-site.

Location

The hamlet of Bruern feels a world away from everyday life, but is set between the popular Cotswold towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton and Burford. Walking routes criss-cross the area with the D’Arcy Dalton way passing through Bruern and nearby Foxholes Nature Reserve. Nearby you can spend days out visiting Chastleton, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens and just slightly further afield are Batsford Arboretum, Cotswold Farm Park and Blenheim Palace.
