Situated in a quintessential Gloucestershire village, The Other House makes for the most considered stay. Designed by the owner's architect father, every element of this rural retreat strikes a harmonious balance between style and comfort. High points include a semi-circular wet room, bespoke furniture and an open-plan layout that maximises views of the garden. We love this spot for a romantic weekend exploring the timeless beauty of the Cotswolds.
Location
The hamlet of Elkstone was first mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and is one of the highest settlements in the Cotswolds, affording it breathtaking views of the countryside. Lying halfway between Cirencester and Cheltenham, just off the A417, the village is the perfect location to explore both of these Cotswold towns, and the villages and places of interest in between. At the heart of the village is the 12th Century church of St John the Evangelist, which towers over the surrounding land at 1,000ft above sea level.
