Sometimes there can be nothing better than completely stepping away from your everyday life. When you spend time at Roe Barn a stone's throw from the village of Sherston, you become part of Cotswold farm life as lush green fields spread before you and the owners horses look on. On occasion you’ll spot Roe deer visiting, giving this barn its name. Your home for a while is a spacious barn conversion with an open plan living area and your own enclosed outdoor space. Two double bedrooms make this perfect for couples and their dog to make the most of exploring the area. Westonbirt Arboretum, dinners at country pubs and day trips to the surrounding Cotswold towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury make this a popular area to stay in. If you're here in May, the nearby Badminton Estate is home to the popular horse trials where impressive equestrian events end with the incredible show jumping.
Full Description
Adding a contemporary touch to a country farm stay, Roe Barn offers comfort and style with colourful rooms and unmissable views. Set across from the main farmhouse you can watch wildlife in the surrounding fields and enjoy walks from your doorstep. Here the skies feel bigger, sweeping into the distance above vibrant green fields. It’s an inspiring place where your job and responsibilities feel far away.

Roe Barn is set across the ground floor, perfect for all your guests, with two bedrooms which share a bathroom. Each has been carefully considered to make sure you feel at ease with room to unpack so you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. One has wonderful views to wake up to. The open plan living space is brought to life with chats by the fire, evenings staying in watching a film and family dinners. Hidden away to one side of the barn is the kitchen which is well-equipped for your stay, and there is a breakfast area if you just fancy a quick bite to eat. Colour moves through the house taking inspiration from the natural colours that surround you with fresh greens, deep reds and subtle taupes.

Your own private outdoor area is fully enclosed with a picnic bench and charcoal BBQ available. Enjoy a taste of local produce and fire up the grill while you soak in the views. At the end of the yard you’ll find a lawned area where you can take the dog out and greet the horses in the fields next door.

Ground Floor

Living/Dining Room
Looking over the farmyard, the open plan living area is both cosy and spacious. Light the fire in the colder months and open the French doors in summer to make the most of this space. The sitting area is gathered beside the woodburner and a smart TV and there is room for everybody to curl up. After buying supplies at one of the local delis, set the table which seats four for evening meals.

Breakfast Room
Start your days at Roe Barn with a big breakfast feast. The table here extends to seat four and it is a nice bright room. In the corner is a fridge/freezer.

Kitchen
Preparing meals in the contemporary kitchen is a breeze. Worktop space and storage is in abundance and you have an oven/hob, kettle and toaster.

Cloakroom
At the end of the barn is a cloakroom with a WC and basin. There is also a washing machine tucked behind the door so you can wash everything off after a country walk.

Bedroom One
The master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed between two bedside tables. Spend a lazy morning here watching TV before gathering for breakfast. This bedroom also has a large built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Jack-and-Jill Bathroom
Each bedroom has access to the bathroom which has a bath with a shower over, WC and basin with storage. Both doors can be locked and it acts as an en-suite for all guests.

Bedroom Two
With touches of deep blue, bedroom two has a double bed. A wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables give you room to put everything away. This bedroom, though smaller, has views across the fields which are sometimes visited by Roe deer.

Outside

Step outside and you are immersed in Cotswold country life. While you are within the courtyard you have your own private fenced area. With a charcoal BBQ and picnic bench you have everything you need for a feast or to enjoy evening drinks as the sun sets over the fields. At the far end of the yard you can make use of a lawned area to take the dog out and say hello to the owner’s horses.
