A perfectly-appointed cottage within a few paces of the elegant and royally-connected Cotswold market town of Tetbury, Old Stables sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms, with 1 family bathroom and a lovely enclosed courtyard garden.
Perched on the side of The Chipping, above the picture-perfect green that lies at the bottom of the infamous Gumstool Hill, sits Old Stables, an idyllic Cotswolds holiday cottage. Offering both excellent amenities and a fabulous location, Old Stables provides a warm welcome for visitors looking to explore this enchanting area of the English countryside.
A semi-detached, natural stone cottage, accessed via a paved pathway above the green, from the outside Old Stables is the epitome of understated Cotswold cosiness. Benefiting from a shared front patio and a private, enclosed, south-facing courtyard garden to the rear, guests can enjoy relaxing and dining al fresco. In the warmer months, the courtyard basks in the bloom of the pretty wall-climbing garden.
Inside, the cottage is well-equipped, simple and stylish. A cosy Living Room and spacious Kitchen/Dining area comprise the ground floor. Upstairs, guests have use of 3 bedrooms, including the Master Bedroom, Single Room and Twin Room with 2 small doubles –perfect for those who enjoy a little extra space.
An elegant and cosy Living Room with dual aspect windows, a central coffee table, electric fireplace, and flat-screen Smart TV, with homely finishing touches such as throw blankets and magazines.
Kitchen/ Dining Area:
A bright, spacious, and well-equipped space, perfect for cooking and dining. The classic shaker-style Kitchen features a fully integrated cooker and hobs, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, microwave, and cafetière as well as a dining table that can seat up to 5 guests. Guests have access to the garden via a back kitchen door.
A good-sized modern family bathroom with a bath, chrome mixer-tap and over-head shower attachment, pedestal washbasin, and toilet.
Light and airy, the Master Bedroom faces over the courtyard garden. With an incredibly comfortable memory foam king-size bed, bedside tables, and wardrobe, this is the perfect bedroom to relax in after a long day exploring the area!
Similarly sized to the Master Bedroom, the Twin Bedroom provides guests with the option of sharing a bed or sleeping separately thanks to its 2 small 4ft double beds. With dual aspect windows, a shared bedside table, and a wardrobe, this is a really lovely bedroom and a great alternative to 2 single beds that are traditionally found in a twin room.

Convenient for Tetbury town centre restaurants and shops. Also great for exploring Cotswolds
The house was well maintained and well stocked. Made a perfect base for me, my wife and our 1 year old. I recommend the Westonbirt arboretum (which is a 5 min drive) and the Cotswolds Farm Park as things to do.
Quaint cottage just on the edge of Tetbury town. Very cozy, the living area is decorated very nicely and is comfortable.
Très agréable petite maison chaleureuse et très bien située. (Very nice, small cosy house and very well located.)
Lovely house, exactly what was promised.
A charming house in charming town. Be sure to stop by The Snooty Fox for afternoon tea or a pint (I recommend the Scrumpy cider). The beds were comfy, the kitchen fully stocked, and there were lots of nearby places to stroll. Day trips by car to Bristol, Oxford, and Bath took an hour-ish each way.
Tetbury itself is a wonderful town to enjoy over a weekend, or from which to base yourself when exploring the wider Cotswolds. If you’re a lover of all things vintage orantique – Tetbury is undoubtedly the place for you. Teeming with unique antique shops, and an abundance of cafes, boutiques and pubs and of course, Prince Charles’ Tetbury residence inspired shop – Highgrove, where all profits go to The Prince of Wales’Charitable Foundation. Westonbirt Arboretum, home to over 2500 different species of tree, is just a short drive away, as is the bigger market town of Cirencester.
