Set amongst peaceful surroundings with woodland in every direction, Buckstone House Coach House is your opportunity to discover the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. You are tucked away from tourist traps but have everything you could need on your doorstep, including the highly rated White Horse Inn at Staunton.
With views across the garden of Buckstone House, the Coach House has beautiful exposed beams adorning the high ceilings and antique furniture which adds personality to this home. You will find a new eye-catching detail every day from the hidden drawers in the writing desk to the unique artwork. Set over two floors both double bedrooms have their own bathroom making it suited to couples or two friends catching up. Filled with light, the main living room has a dining area and comfortable space to spread out by the fire as you settle down in the evening.
Outside you are greeted by well-tended flowering borders, expanses of lawn and shared use of the tennis court and swimming pool. Host your own mini-Wimbledon or start the day with a few pleasant lengths. Your own private table and chairs are in a secluded position allowing you to dine al fresco and enjoy your tranquil environment.

Traditionally styled, the kitchen has everything you need for whipping up a hearty breakfast or evening meal.
Bedroom Two
The double bedroom is fresh and bright with lightly floral décor and antique wooden furnishings. You will have a wonderfully peaceful nights sleep here before you can start your day with a coffee on the terrace.
Shower Room
Freshen up after a country walk or get ready to stroll to the village for a drink at the pub. The shower room is perfectly positioned for guests staying in bedroom two.
First Floor
Open Plan Living/Dining Room
Sitting on the first floor this room has views across the grounds and to the countryside beyond. High ceilings have exposed wooden beams and there is a gas stove at one end which adds warmth on cooler nights. Sunlight floods this room and it is split between a sitting area with a smart TV and a dining area with a table for four.
Bedroom One
The substantial master bedroom has a king-size bed beneath A-frame beams. Starting your day by opening the blinds to views of nature will inspire you to head out and explore.
En-Suite
The en-suite has a bath with a shower over and there are built in cupboards for storing all your beauty must-haves.
Outside
While you can wander the larger gardens, you also have your own private terrace with a table and chairs tucked just beneath the coach house. Enjoy the views as you feast on burgers and hot dogs cooked on the BBQ. Shared use of the tennis court and swimming pool is included so you’ll find you don’t have to travel far to keep everybody entertained.

On your Doorstep
Farm shops, delis, and shopping: Coleford (2.5 miles) is a historic market town with streets lined with Georgian architecture, here there is a Coop, Lidl and Tesco Metro. There is also a range of independent shops, butchers, bakers, a greengrocers and florist. Monmouth (5 miles) is the UK's first bee town, showing its recognition for work done to improve the area for these useful pollinators. Because of this, you can shop a number of honey-based products in Monmouth. It is also a fantastic location for craft shops, galleries and locally made produce.
Eating Out:- The White Horse Inn, Staunton – choose to eat in the bar, cosy restaurant or have a drink in the beer garden. Booking is essential (4 min walk)
- The Ostrich, Newland – charming and ancient pub in a beautiful village (3.5 miles)
- The Whitebrook, Monmouth - Michelin starred restaurant with a focus on sustainability serving set menus (9 miles)
Walks: Staunton is in a fabulous location for walks and is surrounded by woods. Circular routes lead from the village towards the River Wye in the north taking you through forest paths. Around Symonds Yat you can head up to the Yat Rock viewpoint and cross over Biblins Bridge. Visit Forestry England for trail maps.
Places to Visit:- Puzzlewood, Coleford – enchanting woodland which is a popular filming location (3.5 miles)
- Symonds Yat Rock – experience the fantastic views and spot Peregrine Falcons (4 miles)
- Chepstow Racecourse – home of the Welsh Grand National (18 miles)
Travel:Train - Gloucester railway station (22 miles) and Newport railway station (28 miles) have a service to London Paddington.

- The pool is open from mid-May to mid-September (weather dependent), and use is shared with the owners. If the weather is cold, the pool will take longer to warm up.

Location
The area of the stunning Wye Valley and Forest of Dean is a gateway to relatively untouched nature. Walks into the forest, along the river or hikes uphill to Yat Rock reward you with beautiful views. It is one of the best spots to see Peregrine Falcons in the country. Find watersports, cycling routes and beautiful historic towns as you explore this often-overlooked area. Popular spots include Puzzlewood, the Clearwell Caves, Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail which are all just a short drive away.
