Tucked away in beautiful countryside surrounded by fields and green rolling hills Norton Grounds is a peaceful and tranquil spot. Boddingtons Barn is one of four delightful barn conversions and sits in the northern reaches of the Cotswolds amidst a landscape that is simply breath-taking. This traditional stone barn offers a spacious and welcoming escape for couples looking for a peaceful countryside retreat. Set over two floors, the ground floor comprises an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a cosy wood burner. On the first floor, there’s a delightful bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and wonderful views.
Boddingtons Barn is a pretty stone building that forms the gable end of a traditional Cotswold stone barn which has been sympathetically converted, ensuring it sits comfortably within its surroundings. As you turn down the long, tree-lined drive the bucolic, rural scene unfolds before you.
The ground floor of this lovely countryside escape for two, is open-plan, maximising the space yet retaining a warm and welcoming feel with a cosy living area warmed by a stylish wood burner. The polished stone floor and overhead beams are a gentle reminder of the heritage of the barn. The first floor is given over to a vaulted bedroom with beautiful views towards Dover’s Hill and a spacious ensuite shower room.
Boddingtons Barn has an enclosed garden and patio with a table and chairs for two and a charcoal barbecue. If the weather is kind, it’s a wonderful spot to enjoy an evening drink, listening to the sounds of the countryside around you.
The front door opens into a welcoming open-plan space that is both light and airy with windows to the side and rear, yet also warm and cosy. By the door, you’ll find coat hooks and a tray where you can place muddy boots after walks through the countryside.
To the right is a well-equipped oak kitchen that although compact and bijou is packed with everything you could possibly need, including a slimline dishwasher, washer-dryer, and a Nespresso coffee machine. There’s a dining table just big enough for two and at the other end of the room, a cosy living area with a two-seater sofa and an armchair set around a wood-burning stove. A wooden TV unit houses a selection of books and games, and the Smart TV is perfect for relaxing in front of with a favourite film.
The handcrafted stairs to the first floor are in the corner, a handy stair gate is fixed at the bottom.
Encompassing the whole top floor, this airy bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, skylight, and a door to an external stone staircase, through which are the most wonderful countryside views. The comfy double bed is made up with crisp white linen and a soft woollen throw. It’s a blissfully welcoming place to sink into after a day of exploring. There’s ample storage for two with a large wardrobe and a multi-drawer chest of drawers. You’ll also find a second TV and a full-length mirror.
This generously sized bathroom has a shower cubicle with both a rainfall and a handheld showerhead, a traditional style WC with a high-level cistern and chain flush, a hand basin and a mirror with a light and shaver point. There’s a wooden floor underfoot and a window to one side with a deep windowsill.
A path leads from the garden gate to the front door, there’s a patio and a table and chairs just for two along with a charcoal barbecue. There are two parking spaces beyond the adjacent barn.
