Jubilee events in the Cotswolds

Like many other places around the country, there are lots of jubilee events taking place in the Cotswolds to celebrate this remarkable anniversary across the four day bank holiday weekend from the 2 to the 5 of June. Below you’ll find a roundup of some of the fun-filled jubilee events happening throughout the Cotswolds and where you can stay to enjoy them.

Broadway

When: 2 – 5 June

The beautiful village of Broadway knows how to put on a celebration and in commemoration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, they have planned a weekend full of fun and festivities. It begins with a parade through the village followed by the Big Broadway Picnic on the village green and on Thursday evening, a beacon will be lit at Broadway Tower as part of the National Lighting of Beacons. Other events include a classic car display, a concert by the Avon Singers, an open-air community thanksgiving service and the Big Broadway Jubilee Lunch on Sunday.

Cheltenham

When: 5 June

Head to beautiful Sandford Park in Cheltenham for an afternoon of fun at their Jubilee Jolly. With local stalls, fine food, live music plus a dog show, puppet show and fancy dress competition, it will be a fabulous family-friendly afternoon for all.

Daylesford

When: 5 June

The Big Jubilee Picnic at Daylesford promises to be a memorable event in the heart of the Cotswolds. The market garden will be transformed with long trestle tables and live music, and you can spend a very enjoyable afternoon grazing on sharing platters of delicious food with your nearest and dearest.

Dursley

When: 3 June

Festival Dursley is inviting one and all to a Jubilee Picnic on the Rec. There’ll be entertainment, games and music, and no booking is needed.

Gloucester

When: 2 – 5 June

Gloucester begins its jubilee celebrations by joining the National Lighting of Beacons as they light the beacon atop Robinswood Hill on Thursday evening. From 3 to 5 the Gloucester Tall Ships Festival is back. It’s a fabulous weekend of family fun with tall ships, performers and entertainers, street food, drink, crafts, and live music.

Gotherington

When: 4 – 5 June

The little village of Gotherington, on the outskirts of Cheltenham, is hosting a two-day celebration starting with live music, a bar and a hog roast on Saturday followed by a Picnic in the Park, music, food, and a brass band on Sunday.

Shipton-under-Wychwood

When: 5 June

Join the Shipton-under-Wychwood village locals and celebrate the Queen’s jubilee with live music and dancing. Bring your own picnic or enjoy the variety of refreshments available including Pimm’s, ice cream, crepes, and a WI tea.

Tetbury

When: 5 June

Tetbury, home to Highgrove Estate the much-loved home of HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, is holding the Tetbury Picnic in the Rec. Afternoon tea will be provided as you relax to music from the 70 years of the Queen’s reign. There will be stalls and demonstrations from a wide range of local community groups.
