Set against the most glorious backdrop of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Blenheim Palace, the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials promises to be an unforgettable experience for all. Four days of world-class eventing action takes place in this most beautiful and historic venue. Home to the Duke of Marlborough.
Competitors from around the globe come together to battle it out for top honours and for many, the event is a stepping stone for future five-star winners competing in the eight and nine-year-old Championships. Although set over four days the event is known as a three-day event as it is made of up three phases: Dressage, Cross Country, and Showjumping. The dressage takes place over the first two days and then the weekend hosts the cross country and showjumping.
Alongside the equestrian activities, there is much to keep visitors entertained. The shopping village is extensive with over 100 trade stands and exhibitors. These include lifestyle, fashion, and food with everything you can possibly think of available to purchase. When it comes to food and drink visitors are equally spoilt for choice. If you are in the mood for something special the Billington Brasserie offers a VIP package including continental breakfast, buffet lunch and afternoon tea, which is available to pre-purchase. Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic however why not treat yourself to a Palace option, which you can pre-order for collection? Go one step further and pre-book a picnic bench too, these are lakeside and close to the cross-country action. Lastly, the Food Walk showcases a wealth of vendors. Whatever you choose you will not go hungry.
Blenheim Palace is undoubtedly a world-class visitor attraction full of history, culture, and beauty. Over 300 years old the palace is home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family.
