Bolthole Retreats donates £620 to Cheltenham Animal Shelter

Independent holiday letting agency Bolthole Retreats, which is based in Cheltenham, has raised £620 for Cheltenham Animal Shelter.
Throughout the year its generous guests have been able to make a voluntary donation of between £1 to £10 to Cheltenham Animal Shelter when booking their holiday home online, with the grand total presented to the charity in time for Christmas.
Bolthole Retreats has a portfolio of more than 200 properties throughout the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean and Herefordshire, including many dog-friendly cottages and wanted to support Cheltenham Animal Shelter as its Charity of the Year in 2023 so it can continue its valuable work.
It costs approximately £900,000 to run the shelter every year, which cares for hundreds of pets which people can no longer afford and strays, as well as coordinating education and outreach projects in the local community.
As the charity does not receive any Government or Lottery funding, it relies on donations and also offers dog and cat boarding while people are away on holiday to help raise valuable funds, along with a day creche service and grooming parlour.
Rebekah England, Managing Director of Bolthole Retreats, said: “This is the first time we have had a nominated charity and we are extremely thankful to all our guests who have helped contribute to such a great cause.”
Bolthole Retreats is delighted to announce it will continue to support Cheltenham Animal Shelter as its Charity of the Year in 2024.
Erica Landon, Community Engagement Officer at the Shelter, said: “This year we were thrilled to be supported by Bolthole Retreats.
“Presenting ourselves to our local community and to animal lovers further afield is important in raising awareness of the Shelter, our work and the animals in our care. The team is looking forward to the continued relationship in 2024.”
